According to IAU 2000 Resolution B1.3 (e.g., Soffel et al., 2003), the Barycentric Celestial Reference System (BCRS) is defined by the form of the BCRS metric tensor that agrees with our canonical barycentric one (3.2). As we have noted earlier, this form of the metric tensor implies that all kinds of material or energy outside the solar system have ...

Terrestrial Reference System [PDF]
A terrestrial reference system (TRS) is a spatial reference system co-rotating with the Earth in its diurnal motion in space. In such a system, positions of points anchored on the Earth solid surface have coordinates which undergo only small variations with time, due to geophysical effects (tectonic, tidal deformations, loading effects, etc.).

Perceptual constancy and the system of reference
Psychologische Forschung, 19661. Different conceptions of the perceptual constancy were discussed, and a new methodology was proposed to deal with the constancy in connection with the system of reference. 2. Methodologically, two types of constancy were distinguished from each other: (a) constancy obtained by the comparative judgment in the two-stimulus-comparison ...

A reference system in clinical anesthesia
Journal of Clinical Monitoring, 1993We have developed, as a pilot project, a hypertext-based reference system for anesthesia in a neurosurgical clinic. The intention is to give passive decision support prior to the operation. The information is presented according to the different needs and knowledge levels of the anesthesiologists.

Grammaticalization of reference systems
2012AbstractThis article discusses issues concerning the grammaticalisation of reference systems. It suggests that one of the interesting aspects of the grammaticalisation of reference is that a large variety of functions are coded by the same lexical sources, including deictic markers, existential verbs, and nouns marked for gender.

Three concepts are related to the topic of celestial reference system, namely the ideal inertial or celestial systems, their realizations as conventional inertial or celestial systems, implying a set of models and constants, and the materialisation by some objects for which one gives a set of coordinates, forming what is called a conventional inertial ...
