On affine selections of set-valued functions [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Appl. Anal. 1 (1995), 173-179, 2008
The main result states that every convex set-valued function defined on a real interval with compact values in a locally convex space, admits an affine selection. In the case if the target space is a real line and the values are closed real intervals, we can replace the convexity assumption by the more general condition.

Identification of functional and diverse circulating cancer‐associated fibroblasts in metastatic castration‐naïve prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote cancer growth, invasion (metastasis), and drug resistance. Here, we identified functional and diverse circulating CAFs (cCAFs) in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). cCAFs were found in higher numbers and were functional and diverse in mPCa patients versus healthy individuals, suggesting their ...

Spirometry reference values in the Brazilian population

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research
The aim of the present study was to provide new spirometry reference equations in a sample of the Brazilian population for the following parameters: forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), FEV1/FVC ratio, peak of ...

Asymptotic Spectra of Matrix-Valued Functions of Independent Random Matrices and Free Probability [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We investigate the universality of singular value and eigenvalue distributions of matrix valued functions of independent random matrices and apply these general results in several examples. In particular we determine the limit distribution and prove universality under general conditions for singular value and eigenvalue distributions of products of ...

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

The Hidden Binary Search Tree:A Balanced Rotation-Free Search Tree in the AVL RAM Model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
In this paper we generalize the definition of "Search Trees" (ST) to enable reference values other than the key of prior inserted nodes. The idea builds on the assumption an $n$-node AVL (or Red-Black) requires to assure $O(\log_2n)$ worst-case search time, namely, a single comparison between two keys takes constant time.

Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

The role of the reference alternative in the specification of asymmetric discrete choice models [PDF]

open access: yes
Within the discrete choice modelling literature, there has been growing interest in including reference alternatives within stated choice survey tasks.
