Size-dependent deflection of cross-ply composite laminated plate induced by piezoelectric actuators based on a re-modified couple stress theory

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics, 2019
A size-dependent model for cross-ply composite laminated plate bonded with PZT actuators is developed by using re-modified couple stress theory (RMCST), which only uses two material length scale parameters to describe the size-dependent effect.

A Novel Exact Plate Theory for Bending Vibrations Based on the Partial Differential Operator Theory

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Thick wall structures are usually applied at a highly reduced frequency. It is crucial to study the refined dynamic modeling of a thick plate, as it is directly related to the dynamic mechanical characteristics of an engineering structure or device ...

Improved three-dimensional refined plate theory

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics
The paper presents improvements over an earlier developed three-dimensional refined plate theory. The improved theory removes the disadvantage of the earlier theory in that it does not properly satisfy transverse shear stress conditions, and deficiency ...

Transient Response Investigation of Cross-Ply Plates Using Refined Theory

open access: yesJournal of Engineering
Response of cross-ply plates subjected to transient load is obtained using five variables refined plate theory, and four variables plate theory. Equations of motion are derived through the principleof virtual work.

Buckling Response of Functionally Graded Porous Plates Due to a Quasi-3D Refined Theory

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
A quasi-3D refined theory is used to investigate the buckling response of functionally graded (FG) porous plates. The present theory takes into consideration the effect of thickness stretching. Three models of FG porous plates are presented: an isotropic

Static, Vibration and Buckling Analysis of Skew Composite and Sandwich Plates Under Thermo Mechanical Loading

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2013
Static, vibration and buckling behavior of laminated composite and sandwich skew plates is studied using an efficient C 0 FE model developed based on refined higher order zigzag theory.

Isogeometric Buckling Analysis of The Magneto-electro-elastic Foam Plates Resting on An Elastic Foundation

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Engineering and Computation, 2023
This study combines the isogeometric approach (IGA) and refined plate theory (RPT) with two variables to investigate buckling behavior of magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) foam plates resting on an elastic foundation.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
