Oxygen Evolution Reaction Catalysts for Acidic‐Media CO2 Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Acidic‐media CO2 electroreduction (CO2R) could decarbonize chemical production, despite relying on rare‐earth elements for anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Transferring the learnings from mature sister technologies (water electrolysis) could accelerate technological development.

Laser‐Synthesized Amorphous PdSe2‐x Nanoparticles: A Defect‐Rich Platform for High‐Efficiency SERS, Photocatalysis, and Photothermal Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Using femtosecond ablation, we show that an ordered, stoichiometric crystalline PdSe2 target can be controllably converted into a stable, disordered, non‐stoichiometric, and highly functional amorphous nanomaterial, PdSe2−x${\rm PdSe}_{2-x}$. The obtained nanoparticles offer significant advantages over conventional planar plasmon‐free substrates due to

Ultrafast Photocatalytic Wettability Switching in Substrate‐Interface Tailored Titanium Dioxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates ultrafast photocatalytic wettability switching in TiO2 thin films by tailoring substrate doping and interface oxides. Enhanced switching rates and hemiwicking effects are achieved through optimized material stacks and nanostructuring.

No support for solar radiation as a major evolutionary driver of malar stripes in falcons

open access: yesJournal of Avian Biology
The malar stripes of falcons (Falco spp.) are often hypothesised to function by reducing the amount of solar glare reflected into the falcon's eyes while hunting, thereby aiding foraging efficiency in bright conditions.

Efisiensi Penggunaan Radiasi Matahari dan Respon Tanaman Kedelai (Glycine Max L.) terhadap Penggunaan Mulsa Reflektif [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
One of factors affecting the productivity of soybean crop is the availability of solar radiation. Reduction of solar radiation reaching soybean crop by cloud cover especially during rainy season or by shade of trees could potentially decrease soybean ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

User's guide: Nimbus-7 Earth radiation budget narrow-field-of-view products. Scene radiance tape products, sorting into angular bins products, and maximum likelihood cloud estimation products [PDF]

open access: yes
The archived Earth radiation budget (ERB) products produced from the Nimbus-7 ERB narrow field-of-view scanner are described. The principal products are broadband outgoing longwave radiation (4.5 to 50 microns), reflected solar radiation (0.2 to 4.8 ...
