Reflective-Type Phase Shifters for Multiple-Antenna Transceivers
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2007A 10.5-GHz reflective-type phase shifter (RTPS) using resonant loads with L-match impedance transformation (RLT) is implemented in a 0.25-mum SiGe BiCMOS process. A 2.4-GHz RTPS with RLT loads is also integrated in 0.18-mum CMOS; it employs a negative resistance (NR) technique to reduce the loss by 5.9 dB compared to a conventional design that is also ...

Low loss reflection‐type phase shifter in Ku band
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2009AbstractThis article presents a Ku band 360° analogue phase shifter optimized with a genetic algorithm. Varactor diodes are used as the tuning elements. The device presents 360° phase shift on 11% bandwidth. At 12 GHz, the insertion loss is found to be −2.2 ± 0.4 dB. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Bandwidth Optimization Method for Reflective-Type Phase Shifters
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2018This paper discusses a novel optimization technique for broadband reflective-type phase shifters (RTPS). The performance characteristics of an RTPS, including its achievable maximum phase shift and the corresponding average loss, are calculated on the basis of simulated or measured varactor data.

A tunable reflection‐type filtering phase shifter using SISL technology
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2022AbstractThis letter proposed a novel tunable reflection‐type phase shifter (RTPS) with a filtering function using substrate‐integrated suspended line (SISL) technology. First, a novel 3‐dB branch‐line coupler with a filtering function is designed by using broadside coupling lines. On this basis, the filtering RTPS is realized by combining with a series

Noise‐parameter measurements with a reflection type phase shifter
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2010AbstractWe report a miniaturized phase shifter operating in the frequency range from 5 to 7 GHz for noise‐parameter extraction. Such a tunable solid‐state unit represents a significant reduction in the size and mass as a source‐pull component, compared to its mechanical counterparts. It provides adequate impedance coverage, ultra‐fast response, as well

A 39 GHz Reflection-Type Phase Shifter for Reflectarray Antenna Application
2019 International Symposium on VLSI Design, Automation and Test (VLSI-DAT), 2019In this paper, a differential one-port millimeter-wave reflection-type phase shifter for reflectarray antenna applications is implemented in 90 nm CMOS technology. Assisted by a switched terminator, the measured phase shift achieves more than 360 degrees using voltage control from 0 to 1 V.

Analysis of reflective type phase shifter for millimeter wave application
2011 International Conference on Signal Processing, Communication, Computing and Networking Technologies, 2011Phase Shifters are the most important component in phased array antenna system. The antenna system that we are using for millimeter wave communication is phased arrays. Phased array antennas are used to improve the gain and directivity and this can be made possible by the use of phase shifters.

Design considerations for integrated CMOS reflective-type phase shifters
Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, 2007An analysis of reflective-type phase shifters with transformed single-resonant loads for integrated CMOS phased-array implementations is presented. Several components of the standard lumped-element coupler can be eliminated without significant performance degradation, to allow more compact implementations. It is found that the varactor should be chosen

A 38 GHz low-loss reflection-type phase shifter
2017 IEEE 17th Topical Meeting on Silicon Monolithic Integrated Circuits in RF Systems (SiRF), 2017A differential millimeter-wave reflection-type phase shifter is designed at 38 GHz in 90 nm CMOS technology. The measured data shows that the phase shift is tunable up to 161 degrees by voltage control from 0 to 2 V. The insertion loss is compensated by adding a cross-coupled transistor pair, achieving a very low level of 1.45±0.35 dB over the entire ...

Millimeter-Wave Reflective-Type Phase Shifter in CMOS Technology
IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2009The design and measurement of a compact, wide-band reflective-type phase shifter in 90 nm CMOS technology in V-band frequency is presented. This phase shifter has a fractional bandwidth of 26% and an average insertion loss of 6 dB over all phase states. The chip area is only 0.08 mm 2.
