Generalized reflection coefficient for non uniform transmission lines
this paper we present the formula for the generalized reflection coefficient that relates the upgoing wave to the downgoing wave at the interface between an isotropic homogeneous half-space and an isotropic inhomogeneous dielectric slab. Various forms of

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Reflection coefficient conductivity
This figure shows the magnitude of the reflection coefficient, also known in the literature as the Fresnel coefficient, in terms of the angle of incidence. This representation corresponds to a wave propagating in free space an impinging onto a reflection

Performance analysis of journal bearings using ultrasonic reflection
One method that shows potential for non-invasive oil film measurement is the use of ultrasonic reflection. In the current work, ultrasonic transducer is coupled to the outside of a bearing and a wave transmitted through the bearing shell.

Aluminum and nitride coatings are used in industry because they are hard, resist wear, and protect against oxidation. Adding boron can improve friction behavior and other properties. This study tests coatings on surfaces with different finishes. Results show smoother surfaces perform better, while rough ones wear faster, although coatings can reduce ...

Propagation and reflection of pulse waves in flexible tubes and relation to wall properties
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Docter of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University. The wall properties of the arteries play an important role in cardiovascular function. Stiffness of large artery is predictive of cardiovascular events.

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.
