Influence of different paving geosynthetics on crack growth phases and strain behavior in asphalt overlays [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
This study aimed to assess the impact of different paving geosynthetics on crack propagation and the mitigation of reflective cracking in asphalt mixtures based on four-point bending tests combined with Digital Image Correlation (DIC).

The reflective cracking in thin surfacings

open access: yes, 1998
This paper shows a laboratory study on reflection cracking in thin surfacings, where the reflective cracking take an important point in pavement life, undertaken with the Reflective Cracking Device and the Crack Activity Meter. The Crack Activity Meter was used to measure load associated differential vertical and horizontal movement between the two ...

Multimodal Mechanical Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti6Al4V Lattice Structures: Compression, Bending, and Fatigue

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Distribution characteristics and evolution laws of liner cracks in underground caverns for compressed air energy storage

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
The liner of underground gas storage cavern is used to transfer the internal pressure to the surrounding rock, and at the same time serves as the base of flexible sealing layer.

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Research and application of rock asphalt dry-modified fluid mastic asphalt mixture for reflective crack treatment in asphalt pavements

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
To overcome the limitations of traditional reflective crack treatment technologies, this study proposes a dry-process rock asphalt–modified Fluid Mastic Asphalt (FMA) method for reflective crack mitigation.

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing
