Passive Reflectometry

2008
Different materials reflect light in different ways, so reflectance is a useful surface descriptor. Existing systems for measuring reflectance are cumbersome, however, and although the process can be streamlined using cameras, projectors and clever catadioptrics, it generally requires complex infrastructure.

Refractometry by reflectometry

SPIE Proceedings, 1995
Complex refractive index determination (refractometry) of metals can be made successfully with methods using reflectivity measurements. In this paper a brief classification of reflectivity methods with subsequent comments about their sensitivity is made. Experimental results obtained using the most suitable methods are presented.

Reflectometry of the precorneal film

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1985
Abstract. In order to gain information about the thickness of the oily layer of the precorneal film, a clinical method of measuring the reflectivity of the precorneal film was developed. The method entails the use of a slit‐lamp photometer to measure the reflectivity at 2 selectecd wavelengths, 500 and 700 nm, at 20° incidence.

On-site Surface Reflectometry

2017
The rapid development of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) applications over the past years has created the need to quickly and accurately scan the real world to populate immersive, realistic virtual environments for the end user to enjoy.

Pocket reflectometry

ACM SIGGRAPH 2011 papers, 2011
We present a simple, fast solution for reflectance acquisition using tools that fit into a pocket. Our method captures video of a flat target surface from a fixed video camera lit by a hand-held, moving, linear light source. After processing, we obtain an SVBRDF.

Reflectometry on ITER

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1997
Reflectometry will be used on ITER to measure the density profile in the main plasma and divertor regions, and to measure the plasma position and shape in order to provide a standby reference for the magnetic diagnostics in long pulse discharges. The high temperatures of the ITER core and the resultant significant relativistic downshift of the second ...

Neutron reflectometry

2009
Abstract Neutron reflectometry, in which neutrons are reflected from planar structures, is a powerful method for investigating properties of interfaces. It is one of the neutron techniques in most demand today and neutron reflectometers are amongst the first instruments to be commissioned at the new pulsed sources SNS and J-PARC.

GPS reflectometry

2017
