Anti‐Apoptotic and Neurite‐Protective Nanomedicine Augments Embryonic Stem Cells‐Derived Retinal Ganglion Cell Transplantation in Glaucoma Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Lithium‐epigallocatechin gallate nanoparticles (Li‐EGCG NPs) are co‐transplanted with embryonic stem cell‐derived retinal ganglion cells (ESC‐RGCs) to enhance cell survival and therapeutic efficacy in an acute pathological glaucomatous injury model. This synergistic approach protects RGC cells, preserves retinal structure and improves visual function ...

Retinal Pathology and Synucleinopathy in the Visual Pathway of α‐Synuclein Preformed Fibril Mouse Model of Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Schematic summary of visual electrophysiology and retinal and brain pathology. The diagram integrates PVEP abnormalities, retinal pathology, and brain pathology in PFF‐injected mice. Based on behavioral outcomes, the three groups were categorized as control, prodromal PD, and PD, corresponding to the PBS, 3‐month PFF (3 MPI), and 6‐month PFF (6 MPI ...

A Core Head, Neck, and Neuroanatomy Syllabus for Physical Therapy Student Education

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, Volume 39, Issue 4, Page 436-460, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Head, neck, and neuroanatomy are essential components of physical therapy education due to their broad clinical applications. Detailed syllabi exist for medical students, yet none have been developed for physical therapy. This study aimed to produce an International Federation of Associations of Anatomists core head, neck, and neuroanatomy ...

Impact of Early Mobilization and Rehabilitation on Functional Outcomes Following Craniocerebral Gunshot Injuries

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Craniocerebral gunshot injury (CGI) is a severe form of traumatic brain injury associated with profound neurological, cognitive, and functional impairment, often requiring prolonged rehabilitation. We report the case of a 17‐year‐old boy with a penetrating CGI who presented with a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 3/15, intracranial hemorrhage, a ...

A Novel PLP1 Gene Mutation Causing Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia Type 2: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT We report a case of a female patient with hereditary spastic paraplegia type 2 (SPG2), who harbors a novel heterozygous nonsense mutation (c.166C>T/p.Gln56*) in the proteolipid protein 1 (PLP1) gene, which has been previously unpublished in the literature. This discovery expands the spectrum of pathogenic mutations in the PLP1 gene.
