Nonlinear stretch reflex interaction during cocontraction
1. We investigated the role of stretch reflexes in controlling two antagonist muscles acting at the interphalangeal joint in the normal human thumb. Reflex action was compared when either muscle contracted alone and during cocontraction. 2.

Assistive loading promotes goal-directed tuning of stretch reflex gains
Voluntary movements are prepared before they are executed. Preparatory activity has been observed across the CNS and recently documented in first-order neurons of the human PNS (i.e., in muscle spindles).

Nonlinear properties of stretch reflex studied in the decerebrate cat
1. Pairs of brief stretches or a series of stretches at random intervals (Poisson process) were applied to a slow (soleus) and a fast (plantaris) muscle in decerebrate cats to analyze the nonlinear effects of one stretch on the reflex responses to ...

Nonlocomotory Robotic Strategies for Dynamic Rotation Control in Terrestrial Robots: A Review
Terrestrial robots increasingly require rapid body rotation to maintain stability and agility in complex environments. This review shows nonlocomotory rotational control strategies that operate without ground contact, including reaction wheels, tails, bars, limbs, and thrusters.
