Smartphone-Based Refractive Index Optosensing Platform Using a DVD Grating

A low-cost, smartphone-based optical diffraction grating refractometer is demonstrated. Its principle of operation is based on the dependence of the diffraction efficiency of a DVD grating on the surrounding refractive index.

SnO₂ nanoparticles in silica: nanosized tools for femtosecond-laser machining of refractive index patterns [PDF]

Multifunctional atomic layer deposited coatings and interface treatments enhance direct solar water splitting on GaAs/GaInP tandem cells. Optimized TiO2/Pt nanoparticle bilayers ensure durability and catalytic efficiency with minimal optical losses, while H2 plasma pretreatments maximize photovoltage and interfacial charge extraction.
