S-Fiber Probe for Refraction Index Sensing
2017A refractive index (RI) sensor which based on an S-tapered fiber probe (STFP) with a silver mirror on its end facet is demonstrated. The fiber probe has a compact size of about 1 mm, making it proper for sensing in narrow or limited space. It is stiff to bend due to the short probe structure, leading to avoid the cross-sensitivity of bending.

Uncladded sensing fiber for refractive index measurement
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2016The formation of chemically etched optical fiber for use in refractive index sensor is addressed. This presented design of a refractive index (RI) sensor is based on recording the power loss exhibited by radiation propagating through an etched multimode fiber (MMF) immersed in the liquid under study.

A Microfiber Half Coupler for Refractive Index Sensing
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2017We report a reflection mode based microfiber half coupler probe for refractive index (RI) sensing. The probe was made by cleaving a fused 2 $\times$ 2 optical fiber coupler at the center of the tapered region. When used for RI sensing, the reflection spectrum blueshifted as the surrounding RI increased.

Humidity sensing by measurement of the refractive index of air
13th International Conference on Optical Fiber Sensors, 1999A novel remote fiberised humidity sensor is described. The sensor works linearly over the full range of humidity. Its accuracy is 1.6% with a fast response time and does not suffer from ageing, or hysteresis.
