Optofluidic refractive index sensor based on asymmetric diffraction

open access: yesOptics Express, 2019
A novel optofluidic refracrtive index (RI) sensor was proposed based on asymmetric Fraunhofer diffraction. In-plane optofluidic lens, light source, slit, diffraction pattern visualization zone and optical path were integrated into the microfluidic networks to avoid the manual alignment of the optical components as well as to reduce the cost of external

Soft and Stiff 3D Microstructures by Step‐Growth Photopolymerization Using a Single Photoresin and Multi‐Photon Laser Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An additive and initiator‐free photoresin based on a prepolymer decorated with photoreactive step‐growth units as crosslinkers allows for the fabrication of 3D microstructures with strongly disparate mechanical properties ranging from stiff to soft. Abstract Manufacturing three‐dimensional (3D) microstructures with multi‐material properties via two ...

Understanding and Addressing the Performance Asymmetry Issue in Semitransparent Laminated Organic Photovoltaic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work addresses the challenge of current–voltage asymmetry in scalable laminated semitransparent organic photovoltaics (OPVs) for indoor applications. Vertical stratification of materials is shown to create an energy barrier, leading to performance differences under different illumination directions.

Modeling of a Single-Notch Microfiber Coupler for High-Sensitivity and Low Detection-Limit Refractive Index Sensing

open access: yesSensors, 2016
A highly sensitive refractive index sensor with low detection limit based on an asymmetric optical microfiber coupler is proposed. It is composed of a silica optical microfiber and an As2Se3 optical microfiber.

Hollow-core photonic crystal fiber refractive index sensor based on modal interference [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A refractive index sensor based modal interference in hollow core photonic crystal fiber (HCPCF) is proposed and demonstrated. The sensor is realized by splicing both ends of a HCPCF section to single mode fiber (SMF).

Broad-band difference interferometer as a refractive index sensor

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
Integrated Optical Broad-Band Difference Interferometer (IO BB DI) is introduced as an alternative and economical measurement method to integrated optical label-free affinity sensors. A detailed theoretical analysis of the method is presented and the effects of the waveguide layer on the operation of the system are shown.

Vat Photopolymerization of High Molecular Weight Polymer Latexes with Pseudothermoplastic Properties for Recyclability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A photocurable latex system enables high‐resolution vat photopolymerization of water‐dispersed thermoplastics, yielding pseudothermoplastic materials with recyclability. The formulation permits precise control over mechanical properties and supports reprocessing through conventional and extrusion‐based methods. Compatibility with two‐photon 3D printing
