Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

The effect of microsilica and refractory cement content on the properties of andalusite based Low Cement Castables used in aluminum casthouse O efeito do teor de microsílica e de cimento refratário nas propriedades de LCCs usados em moldagem de alumínio

open access: yesCerâmica, 2010
The bonding system in low cement castables is achieved by the use of calcium aluminate cement, microsilica and reactive alumina. The lime/silica ratio critically impacts the liquid phase formation at high temperatures and subsequently the corrosion ...

Effect of microsilica content on microstructure and properties of foamed ceramics with needle-like mullite [PDF]

open access: yesProcessing and Application of Ceramics, 2019
In this study, five foamed ceramics with struts containing needle-like mullite were prepared by direct-foaming method using white clay, industrial alumina and microsilica powder as raw materials.

The dissimilar chemical composition of the planet-hosting stars of the XO-2 binary system

open access: yes, 2015
Using high-quality spectra of the twin stars in the XO-2 binary system, we have detected significant differences in the chemical composition of their photospheres. The differences correlate strongly with the elements' dust condensation temperature. In XO-

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Nano-laminated BN modified graphite reinforced unfired MgO–C refractories: Preparation, properties and strengthening mechanism

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
To solve the problem of deterioration of oxidation resistance and thermal shock resistance caused by low carbonization of MgO–C refractories, nano-laminated BN modified graphite was prepared by the molten salt method to reinforce unfired MgO–C ...

TREX1, a predator for treating MSI‐H tumors?

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immunotherapy benefits many patients; yet, some with MSI‐H tumors remain unresponsive despite their high immunogenicity. Xu et al. reveal that TREX1 enables immune evasion by degrading cytosolic DNA and suppressing cGAS–STING–IFN‐I signaling. TREX1 loss restores DNA sensing, increases CD8+ T and NK cell infiltration, and boosts antitumor immunity ...

A subset of MMR‐proficient colon cancers responds to neoadjuvant immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tan et al. reveal that a distinct subset of early‐stage pMMR colon cancers can respond to neoadjuvant immunotherapy. In the NICHE‐2 trial, responders (26%) were characterized by chromosomal instability, TP53 mutations, and proliferative cell‐cycle programs, whereas nonresponders showed metabolic and stromal reprogramming with TGF‐β‐driven ...

Fluencia en materiales refractarios

open access: yesBoletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio, 2013
Refractory materials are widely used in various industrial fields due to their outstanding properties and performance in aggressive environments. However, although creep resistance is one of the most important properties for the selection of these ...

High temperature confocal scanning laser microscopy analysis of dead‐burned magnesia aggregates

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ceramic Engineering & Science, 2023
Dead‐burned magnesia is a commonly used material in the manufacturing of refractories for the steelmaking industry. Aggregates of dead‐burned magnesia contain secondary phases due to the impurities within the magnesite rock used in its production.
