Barriers to Steel Decarbonization
Main identified barriers to steel decarbonization Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are a leading contributor to global climate change, necessitating urgent mitigation strategies. While various metrics—such as total national emissions, per‐capita output, and historical contributions—define responsibility, determining accountability remains complex ...

This work uses high‐temperature dilatometry to examine how the tramp elements Cu, Ni, and Sn affect the deformability of non‐metallic inclusions and matrix in quench‐and‐temper steel. Mg‐bearing inclusions deform less than Mg‐free ones. Copper lowers formability. Nickel increases deformability.

Monitoring of historical structural materials with computed tomography
Abstract Computed tomography (CT) is an excellent tool to solve certain engineering problems connected to material science (such as sulfate swelling, internal degradation due to freezing, and alkali silicate swelling) and to understand specific processes (frost peeling, acid action).

Characterisation of steel industry slag suitability as raw material for refractory castables
Refractories are inorganic non-metallic materials which are used at high temperatures usually exceeding 1000°C and they should remain chemically and physically stable at high temperatures.

Geopolymers are presented as a chemically programmable platform whose properties emerge from activation chemistry, nanoscale disorder, and interfacial design. The review highlights sustainability challenges, the shift toward nanoengineered and hybrid systems, and the rise of halloysite‐based architectures enabling tunable structures across scales for ...

Using Virtual Exchange for Teaching BELF Pragmatics: Developing an Online Negotiation Activity
Abstract Teaching Business English (BE) is experiencing a paradigm shift to reflect the communicative needs of the global workplace. With the majority of interactions in English now taking place among multilingual speakers, there are increasing calls to integrate perspectives of English as a business lingua franca (BELF) into English language and ...
