This work uses high‐temperature dilatometry to examine how the tramp elements Cu, Ni, and Sn affect the deformability of non‐metallic inclusions and matrix in quench‐and‐temper steel. Mg‐bearing inclusions deform less than Mg‐free ones. Copper lowers formability. Nickel increases deformability.

Characterization of Nonmetallic Inclusions in Ce‐Containing Steels at the Submicroscopic Level
Accurate detection of nonmetallic inclusions (NMIs) is crucial for ensuring high standards in steel cleanness and properties. Optimized automated SEM/EDS measurements are required for evaluating Ce‐containing NMIs. This study enhances the characterization of submicroscopic NMI in Ce‐alloyed ultralow‐carbon, high‐manganese, and electrical steels ...

‘The Bethune College Sensation’: Gender, Archive and Radical Passivity
ABSTRACT This article explores the student protests at Bethune College, Calcutta, on 3 February 1928, against the Simon Commission, a British parliamentary delegation that excluded Indian representation. On this day, female students staged a quiet but radical act of defiance by refusing to attend classes, sign apologies or vacate their hostel, despite ...

Advanced high carbon-containing refractory castables [PDF]
Refractory castables in the Al2O3-SiO2-SiC-C system are applied in the iron making process, including runners for molten slags and metals. Over the past years, several attempts to increase the carbon content of these materials have been performed, aiming
