Quantifying Structure–Property Relationships in Ferroelectric Polymers Toward High‐Performance Soft Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, we establish a quantitative relationship between the electrostriction coefficient (Q33) of FRPs and their interplanar spacing (d): Q33 = 100(Δd/d0+1) × Q33(s). Using this model, we fabricated high‐performance soft robots, including a biomimetic crawler (with a speed of 27 cm/s) and a butterfly (with a thrust‐to‐weight ratio of 0.71).

Novel exploitation of Dubinin-Astakhov theory in sorption reactor design for refrigeration and heat pumps applications [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper describes novel methodology that is based on a single given adsorbent-refrigerant pair characteristic (example activated carbon 208C–Ammonia pair) leading to the characterization of the same adsorbent (activated carbon 208C) with various ...

Unconventional Hysteretic Charge Filling in Moiré‐Reconstructed Helical Trilayer Graphene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In helical trilayer graphene, sequential twisting reconstructs the moiré landscape into periodic domains separated by aperiodic boundaries. Longitudinal transport reveals sweep‐direction‐dependent hysteresis, while the Hall response traces this behavior to hysteretic charge filling at the aperiodic boundaries.

De Novo Design of Membrane‐Targeting Antimicrobial Peptides Against Gram‐Negative Bacteria Using a Generative Artificial Intelligence Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial resistance caused by Gram‐negative bacteria remains difficult to overcome due to the protective outer membrane. To address this challenge, a multi‐condition constrained generative AI framework, GenMTAMP is proposed for de novo membrane‐targeting antimicrobial peptide design by integrating physicochemical and spatial structure descriptors.

Exergy Analysis of an Absorption Refrigeration System Using an Iconic Liquid as a Working Fluid in the Chemical Compressor

open access: yes, 2012
The first and second law of thermodynamics are applied to an ionic-liquid (IL) based absorption refrigeration system for high power electronics cooling. The IL is a salt in a liquid state usually with an organic cation and inorganic anion. It provides an

Electrical‐Stimulation Hydrogel Electronic Skin for Sustainable Hybrid Biomechanical–Electromagnetic Energy Harvesting and Accelerating Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hybrid biomechanical–electromagnetic energy‐harvesting e‐skin is developed using a gelatin‐based outer matrix with a zwitterionic conductive inner layer. The e‐skin autonomously generates stable electrical stimulation from daily body motion and ambient electronics, enabling significantly enhanced wound healing bothin vitro and in vivo.

Intube condensation with refrigerants

open access: yes, 1999
A new experimental apparatus has recently been set up at the Dipartimento di Fisica Tecnica of the University of Padova. Condensation tests for several refrigerants were conducted inside a smooth tube by directly measuring the wall temperature in the ...

Lessons From Drug Discovery for Cryoprotective Agent Design: An AI‐Oriented Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cryoprotectant design is reframed through the lens of drug discovery as a multiparameter optimization problem. This perspective highlights how AI and systematic design strategies could enable safer, more effective cryoprotectants, while identifying key limitations that currently constrain predictive progress in cryobiology. ABSTRACT Cryopreservation is

Study on Mixed Refrigerants Selecting and Matching of a Four Stage Auto-cascade Refrigeration

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2013
The selection and mixture ratio of the mixed refrigerants are important to a multistage auto-cascade refrigeration system. A simulation method was found for the mixed refrigerants selection and ratio calculation by using the commercial software REFPROP8 ...

Closed‐Loop Radiative Cooling Mulch Upcycled From Agricultural Residues for Efficient Soil Heat–Water Stress Mitigation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional passive radiative cooling films rely on costly feedstocks and energy‐intensive fabrication, with poor end‐of‐life compatibility in agriculture. To address this challenge, a sustainable radiative cooling mulch (SRCM) is developed from waste maize leaves via spontaneous hydrogen‐bond self‐assembly.
