Regional downscaling increases projected changes of maritime continent large scale rainfall extremes

open access: yesScientific Reports
Global climate models (GCMs) are fundamental tools which generate climate change projections that support decision making. However, their coarse spatial resolution limits their ability to capture local impacts accurately.

Spiro‐Phenothiazine Hole‐Transporting Materials: Unlocking Stability and Scalability in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorene‐functionalized spiro‐phenothiazine (PTZ‐Fl) exhibits strong Li+ affinity and thermal stability, enabling a PCE of 25.75% in small‐area cells and 22.07% in 25 cm2 modules. Under ISOS‐L3 conditions, PTZ‐Flbased devices retain over 80% efficiency after 1000 hours, demonstrating superior stability and scalability compared to spiro‐OMeTAD for next ...

High Light Utilization and Color Rendering in Vacuum‐Deposited Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, low bandgap (≈1.55 eV) semitransparent perovskite solar cells (ST‐PSCs) having thin (thickness < ≈100 nm) perovskite layers and transparent conductive oxide‐based rear electrodes are fabricated using vacuum‐deposition methods. Two different ST‐PSCs demonstrated a high light utilization efficiency value of 4.2 (PCE: 9.26% and AVT: 45.3 ...

Climate projections for Vietnam based on regional climate models [PDF]

open access: yesClimate Research, 2014
This study uses an ensemble of regional climate models (RCMs) to simulate and pro- ject the climate of Vietnam. Outputs of 3 global climate models are dynamically downscaled using 3 RCMs. Experiments are performed for a baseline period from 1980 to 1999 and for a future pro- jection from 2000 to 2050 with the A1B emission scenario.

Electrochromic Adaptive Solar Heater and Sub‐Ambient Passive Daytime Radiative Cooler

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An electrochromic Cu–Bi nanocluster device dynamically switches between solar heating and daytime sub‐ambient radiative cooling without mechanical motion. Defect‐activated graphene, minimized electrolyte loss, and pulse‐assisted reversible electrodeposition enable opposite solar and mid‐infrared modulation in one opaque platform, establishing a design ...

A Regional Model of Climate Change and Human Migration

open access: yesInternational Journal of System Dynamics Applications, 2019
As climate change and human migration accelerate globally, decision-makers are seeking tools that can deepen their understanding of the complex nexus between climate change and human migration. These tools can help to identify populations under pressure to migrate, and to explore proactive policy options and adaptive measures.

Projections of climate change indices of temperature and precipitation from an ensemble of bias‐adjusted high‐resolution EURO‐CORDEX regional climate models

open access: yes, 2016
Statistical bias‐adjustment of climate models' outputs is being increasingly used for assessing the impact of climate change on several sectors. It is known that these techniques may alter the mean climate signal of the adjusted variable; however, the ...

Iron‐Mediated Release of Aged Dissolved Organic Carbon From Waterlogged Peatland Under Warming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study conducts a five‐year in situ warming experiment in high‐altitude peatlands to examine dissolved organic carbon (DOC) release. The study shows that warming promotes the release of plant‐derived modern DOC in drained peatlands, but amplifies aquatic export of century‐old DOC from waterlogged peatlands via Fe‐mediated DOC mobilization—a ...
