Clustering Chinese Regional Cultures with Online-gaming Data [PDF]
To identify cluster of societies is not easy in subject to the availability of data. In this study, from the prospective of computational social science, we propose a novel method to cluster Chinese regional cultures. Using millions of geotagged online-gaming data of Chinese internet users playing online card and board games with regional features, 336

Comprehensive clinical evaluation of novel 4DCT‐based lung function imaging methods
Abstract Purpose Methods have been developed that apply image processing to 4DCTs to generate 4DCT‐ventilation/perfusion lung imaging. Traditional methods for 4DCT‐ventilation rely on Hounsfield‐Unit (HU) density‐change methods and suffer from poor numerical robustness while not providing 4DCT‐perfusion data.

Impact of High PV Penetration on Regional Power Grids [PDF]
Due to the high solar irradiance or energy price, certain regions in the U.S. may reach 100% PV penetration and experience degradation of frequency response greater than the interconnection as a whole. Therefore, in this section, the 100% PV penetration region in each interconnection is simulated to study the local high PV penetration effects.

Abstract Purpose To assess the predictive capability of CT radiomics features for early recurrence (ER) of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Methods Postoperative PDAC patients were retrospectively selected, all of whom had undergone preoperative CT imaging and surgery. Both patients with resectable or borderline‐resectable pancreatic cancer met

Spatially Constrained Spectral Clustering Algorithms for Region Delineation [PDF]
Regionalization is the task of dividing up a landscape into homogeneous patches with similar properties. Although this task has a wide range of applications, it has two notable challenges. First, it is assumed that the resulting regions are both homogeneous and spatially contiguous.

Microglial regional heterogeneity and its role in the brain
Microglia have been recently shown to manifest a very interesting phenotypical heterogeneity across different regions in the mammalian central nervous system (CNS). However, the underlying mechanism and functional meaning of this phenomenon are currently

Entropy region and convolution [PDF]
The entropy region is constructed from vectors of random variables by collecting Shannon entropies of all subvectors. Its shape is studied here by means of polymatroidal constructions, notably by convolution. The closure of the region is decomposed into the direct sum of tight and modular parts, reducing the study to the tight part.

A Geometric Approach to Confidence Regions and Bands for Functional Parameters [PDF]
Functional data analysis, FDA, is now a well established discipline of statistics, with its core concepts and perspectives in place. Despite this, there are still fundamental statistical questions which have received relatively little attention. One of these is the systematic construction of confidence regions for functional parameters.
