Impact of High PV Penetration on Regional Power Grids [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Due to the high solar irradiance or energy price, certain regions in the U.S. may reach 100% PV penetration and experience degradation of frequency response greater than the interconnection as a whole. Therefore, in this section, the 100% PV penetration region in each interconnection is simulated to study the local high PV penetration effects.

A Study of the regional subculture

open access: yesJapanese Sociological Review, 1998
This study debates the possibility of “regional subcultures”, foccussing on the case of independent moviemen and their field in Okayama city. Not only giant metropolises but some “local cities” in Japan also have cultivated the capacity to develop subcultures. The case of Okayama's moviemen gives some facts in corroboration of this statement.

Floristic Study of Mirabad Region

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Biological Sciences, 2007
The study area (Mirabad) is located between 36 degrees, 55' to 37 degrees north latitude and 45 degrees, 05' to 55 degrees, 44' east longitude in west Azerbaijan province. In this study, Flora of this region was determined by using available references. We encountered 192 species that belongs to 126 genera and 41 families.

Clinical and Imaging Features of Sporadic and Genetic Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration TDP‐43 A and B

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Certain frontotemporal lobar degeneration subtypes, including TDP‐A and B, can either occur sporadically or in association with specific genetic mutations. It is uncertain whether syndromic or imaging features previously associated with these patient groups are subtype or genotype specific.

Spatially Constrained Spectral Clustering Algorithms for Region Delineation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Regionalization is the task of dividing up a landscape into homogeneous patches with similar properties. Although this task has a wide range of applications, it has two notable challenges. First, it is assumed that the resulting regions are both homogeneous and spatially contiguous.

Part 5: Electricity Deregulation: What Impact Will It Have On Hampton Roads? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The Virginia General Assembly has voted to deregulate electricity in Virginia, but has delayed critical parts of this process until 2010 at the earliest. Recently, the General Assembly seems to have lost some of its stomach for deregulation.

Dual‐Phase C‐11 PiB PET Images for Detecting Tau Pathology in Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is a major cause of lobar intracerebral hemorrhage and cognitive dysfunction in the elderly, and frequently coexists with Alzheimer's disease and tau pathology. Dual‐phase 11C‐PiB PET detects amyloid deposition and cerebral perfusion changes and may have diagnostic value for identifying tau in CAA ...

Entropy region and convolution [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
The entropy region is constructed from vectors of random variables by collecting Shannon entropies of all subvectors. Its shape is studied here by means of polymatroidal constructions, notably by convolution. The closure of the region is decomposed into the direct sum of tight and modular parts, reducing the study to the tight part.
