Perovskite Electrocatalysts for Oxygen Evolution in Alkaline Media: From Fundamentals to Recent Developments

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
Perovskite oxides offer exceptional structural flexibility, enabling precise tuning of composition and electronic structure. This review connects these design parameters to both adsorbate‐ and lattice‐oxygen‐mediated OER pathways, highlighting the promise of rationally engineered perovskites as high‐performance electrocatalysts for alkaline water ...

Structural Modeling and Dynamics of the Full‐Length Homer1 Multimer

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, Volume 94, Issue 4, Page 947-960, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Homer proteins are modular scaffold molecules that constitute an integral part of the protein network within the postsynaptic density. Full‐length Homer1 forms a large homotetramer via a long coiled coil region, and can interact with proline‐rich target sequences with its globular EVH1 domain.

Social transformation through community music projects: A scoping review

open access: yesReview of Education, Volume 14, Issue 1, April 2026.
Abstract This article investigates the hypothesis that music can be a powerful catalyst for social transformation within specific territorial and social contexts. To explore this, a scoping review was conducted, aiming to identify the participants, networks and contexts described in the scientific literature on community music and to critically examine

Comparative Multi‐Marker Environmental DNA Metabarcoding of Marine Metazoan Communities: Water vs. Sediment

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 26, Issue 3, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the metazoan biodiversity in the Southern Adriatic Sea using environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding. Sediment and adjacent water samples were collected from three sites (one pristine, two impacted by human activities) at three distances from the coast across two seasons.

Exploring the genetic overlap between substance use disorder and educational attainment

open access: yesAddiction, Volume 121, Issue 4, Page 908-921, April 2026.
Abstract Background and aims Substance use disorder (SUD) is a polygenic psychiatric condition characterized by persistent drug use despite negative consequences. Several studies support that higher cognitive performance and educational attainment (EA) are associated with a reduced risk for SUD.

Synergistic antiviral activity against human adenovirus through combination of itraconazole and brincidofovir

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 7, Page 1578-1601, April 2026.
Background and Purpose Human adenovirus (HAdV) causes respiratory or gastrointestinal tract infections depending on the virus subtype. While HAdV infections are generally self‐limiting in immunocompetent people, they can result in significant morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised adults and children.

Using miniaturized laboratory equipment and DNA barcoding to improve conservation genetics training and identify illegally traded species

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Illegal wildlife trade (IWT) is one of the largest global illegal activities, and it negatively affects biodiversity and sustainable development worldwide. DNA barcoding coupled with high‐throughput sequencing (i.e., metabarcoding) is useful in identifying taxa affected by IWT and has been used routinely for decades.

Insights Into Overall Photocatalytic Water Splitting Through Simultaneous In Situ H2 and O2 Measurements

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
A photoreactor setup allowing for simultaneous in situ detection of H2 and O2 in the liquid as well as gas phase is described. Using this system, overall water splitting with Rh2−yCryO3/Al:SrTiO3 is investigated, determining irradiance dependence, thermal activation barrier, optimal cocatalyst loading, and H/D kinetic isotope effect.
