Enhancing school-university partnerships. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Preservice teachers are offered school-based experiences as a component of their undergraduate teacher education programmes. While there have been major shifts toward establishing new types of partnerships between schools and teacher education providers ...

RPLP2 Mediates the Beneficial Effects of Exercise on Stress Resistance Through Muscle–Brain Communication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel exercise‐inducible myokine acidic ribosomal protein P2 (RPLP2), initially identified from human trials, is presented here, whose circulating levels negatively correlate with clinical anxiety severity. Muscle‐derived RPLP2 enhances hippocampal ribosomal assembly and adult neurogenesis to rescue stress‐induced anxiety deficits.

Evolution of the environmental justice movement: activism, formalization and differentiation

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2015
To complement a recent flush of research on transnational environmental justice movements, we sought a deeper organizational history of what we understand as the contemporary environmental justice movement in the United States. We thus conducted in-depth

Genetic Ablation and Multi‐Omics Profiling Reveal CEP55 as a Key Driver of Tumorigenesis in Diverse Cancer Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genetic ablation of Cep55 in Pten‐deficient mouse models delays tumorigenesis. Integrated multi‐omics analyses (proteomics, phosphoproteomics, and spatial transcriptomics) reveal that CEP55 regulates oncogenic signaling (RAS/ERK, PI3K/AKT), integrin/FAK‐mediated adhesion, extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, and endocytosis.

SDF‐1 Attenuates Oocyte Quality Decline During Reproductive Aging Through Autophagy‐Enhanced Stress Granule Scavenging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SDF‐1 levels decline significantly with maternal aging. Exogenous supplementation restores meiotic spindle morphology, chromosomal alignment, and mitochondrial function while reducing oxidative stress in aged oocytes. Mechanistically, SDF‐1 enhances autophagic activity to clear accumulated stress granules, thereby rescuing fertilization competence and ...

OTUD6A‐Mediated Deubiquitination of PRDX1 Protects Against Oral Ulcer by Restoring Mitochondrial Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In human oral keratinocytes, OTUD6A promoted cell migration by deubiquitinating and stabilizing PRDX1. Conversely, OTUD6A deficiency reduced PRDX1 stability, triggering mitochondrial dysfunction and aggravating OU progression. ABSTRACT Oral ulcers (OU), as the most highly prevalent and recurrent oral mucosal lesion, have an unclear pathogenesis that ...

The future of registered partnerships ::family recognition beyond marriage? /

open access: yes, 2018
In many jurisdictions registered partnerships were introduced either as a functional equivalent to marriage for same-sex couples or as an alternative to marriage open to all couples. As marriage is opened up to same-sex couples in an increasing number of

Covalently Linked Peptides and Membrane Potential Enable CyaA Segment Translocation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a newly developed Droplet Interface Bilayer‐Pipette assay, the authors show that two segments of the CyaA toxin cross membranes by distinct mechanisms. One segment translocates spontaneously, whereas the translocation of the other depends on membrane potential.
