REGRESSION DISCONTINUITY DESIGN WITH POTENTIALLY MANY COVARIATES

open access: yesEconometric Theory
This article examines high-dimensional covariates in regression discontinuity design (RDD) analysis. We introduce estimation and inference methods for the RDD models that incorporate covariate selection while maintaining stability across various numbers of covariates. The proposed methods combine a localization approach using kernel weights with

Regression Discontinuity Designs in Economics

open access: yes, 2009
This paper provides an introduction and "user guide" to Regression Discontinuity (RD) designs for empirical researchers. It presents the basic theory behind the research design, details when RD is likely to be valid or invalid given economic incentives, explains why it is considered a "quasi-experimental" design, and summarizes different ways (with ...

Gram‐Scale Synthesis of Hafnium‐Rich Carbon Dots for Preclinical Computed Tomography Imaging Across Various Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hafnium (Hf)‐rich carbon dots (Hf‐rCDs) with high metal content (40.7%) and robust batch production capacity (>2 g per batch) are synthesized via a facile air‐assisted pyrolysis method. In vivo CT imaging demonstrates outstanding performance of Hf‐rCDs across multiple physiological systems and enables high‐resolution visualization of swine cervical ...

Microgel‐Based Hierarchical Porous Hydrogel Patch with Adhesion and Resilience for Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a hierarchically porous hydrogel patch strategy (HPMP), based on gas‐shearing microfluidics and an aqueous two‐phase system to fabricate porous microgels as microgel‐based bioinks. The porous microgels with controllable porous structure exhibit excellent cellular behavior.

Cellular Identity Crisis: RD3 Loss Fuels Plasticity and Immune Silence in Progressive Neuroblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Researchers discovered that therapy‐induced loss of RD3 protein in neuroblastoma triggers a dangerous shift: cancer cells become more stem‐like, invasive, and resistant to treatment while evading immune detection. RD3 loss suppresses antigen presentation and boosts immune checkpoints, creating an immune‐silent environment.

Evaluating the Effect of an Antidiscrimination Law Using a Regression-Discontinuity Design [PDF]

open access: yes
The regression discontinuity (RD) data design is a quasi-experimental design with the defining characteristic that the probability of receiving treatment changes discontinuously as a function of one or more individual characteristics.

Long term effects of a mandatory multistage program:the new deal for young people in the UK [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The New Deal For Young People is the major welfare-to-work program in the UK. It is amandatory multistage policy targeted at the 18-24 year old unemployed. This paper investi-gates the effectiveness of the program in terms of enhancing the (re)employment
