Prmt6 Deficiency or Inhibition Restores Microglial Homeostasis and Promotes Scar‐Limited Repair in Adult Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
After spinal cord injury, adult microglia remain persistently activated with chronic PRMT6 (protein arginine methyltransferase 6) upregulation. Prmt6 deficiency or inhibition reestablishes microglial homeostasis and promotes a scar‐limited repairment, enhancing axonal regrowth.

Persistence of viable but non-culturable bacteria during the production and distribution of drinking water [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The direct measurement of in situ respiring bacteria using 5-cyano-2,3-ditolyl tetrazolium chloride (CTC) shows that, especially for Gram-negative bacteria, large numbers of viable but non-culturable (VBNC) bacteria are present in finished water from a ...

A Novel Approach Based on Acceptor–Donor–Acceptor Type Molecules Enhances the Therapeutic Efficacy and Safety of Photothermal Therapy for Osteosarcoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Jin et al. developed IEICO‐F nanoparticles with enhanced photothermal conversion efficiency via optimized push‐pull effect. Under 808 nm laser, these nanoparticles effectively generated heat to kill osteosarcoma cells and exhibited significant tumor suppression in vivo. Therefore, this novel A‐D‐A type molecule‐based photothermal therapy strategy holds

Timothy and timothy mixtures as a pasture crop [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Despite the relatively low tolerance against grazing and peaked DM production, timothy can be used effiently for grazing, especially in mixtures with meadow fescue. The growth processes lead to specific management options, e.g.

Deep Sight of Temperature‐Dependent Wake‐Up Effect of Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 Capacitors and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Doped HfO2 ferroelectrics have attracted significant attention owing to their compatibility with CMOS processes in memory applications. The evolution of phases in doped HfO2 films during the wake‐up process remains a subject of ongoing interest.

Degradation Pathways of Silicon‐Based Anodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon‐based anodes undergo degradation through five primary pathways: (1) mechanical and structural deterioration of the active material, (2) loss of electrode integrity and electrical contact, (3) mechanical instability of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), characterized by repetitive fracture and deformation, (4) chemical instability of the ...

Development of immunocompetent models for primary and metastatic ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
This study explores syngeneic, immunocompetent models of ER+ breast cancer in 129S6/SvEv mice, using trackable tumor cells to model both primary tumors and metastasis. The models show promise, while also revealing limitations for studying advanced disease and immune interactions.

Regeneration in Echinoderms: repair, regrowth, cloning [PDF]

open access: yesInvertebrate Survival Journal, 2006
Regenerative potential is expressed to a maximum extent in echinoderms. It is a commonphenomenon in all the classes, extensively employed to reconstruct external appendages and internalorgans often subjected to amputation, self-induced or traumatic ...
