Residual vital ratio: predicting regrowth after radiofrequency ablation for benign thyroid nodules

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hyperthermia, 2020
Purpose To determine a novel quantitative index, residual vital ratio(RVR) by contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS) with conventional Ultrasound(US), to early predict nodule regrowth after radiofrequency ablation (RFA)for benign thyroid nodules.

Effect of defoliation height on regrowth of timothy and meadow fescue in the generative and vegetative phases of growth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Post-defoliation carbohydrate stores, leaf area and the number of active meristems are important factors affecting the subsequent regrowth of grasses. Defoliation height affects the magnitude of all these factors.

Degrowth or Regrowth? [PDF]

open access: yesEnvironmental Values, 2013
Despite the obvious connections between degrowth and a range of sister concepts (such as limits to growth and sustainable development), it is important to remember what is unique about the concept. The distinguishing feature of the concept of degrowth is that it brings attention to the nature and effects of growth.

Innovative Biomaterials for Bone Regrowth [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
The regenerative medicine, a new discipline that merges biological sciences and the fundamental of engineering to develop biological substitutes, has greatly benefited from recent advances in the material engineering and the role of stem cells in tissue regeneration. Regenerative medicine strategies, involving the combination of biomaterials/scaffolds,

Compensating impurity effect on epitaxial regrowth rate of amorphized Si [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
The epitaxial regrowth of ion-implanted amorphous layers on Si with partly compensated doping profiles of 11B, 75As, and 31P was studied. Single implants of these impurities are found to increase the regrowth rate at 475 and 500°C.

Five Ways of Characterizing Agricultural Land Use Dynamics and Abandonment from Subsidy Data

open access: yesLand, 2021
Abandonment of agricultural land is a process described from different regions of many industrialized countries. Given the current focus on land use, land use change and food security, it appears highly relevant to develop improved tools to identify and ...

The influence of forest regrowth, original canopy cover and tree size on saproxylic beetles associated with old oaks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Abandoned management has caused many sites with free-standing, large oaks (Quercus robur) to become more shaded. This study shows how forest regrowth affects beetle species associated with old oaks in south-eastern Sweden. Beetles were trapped by pitfall
