Reflection and transmission in regular dense arrays of dipole scatterers

Held in conjunction with: USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting (Cat. No.00CH37118), 2002A simple analytical boundary condition to model electromagnetic properties of planar regular dense array of dipole particles is developed for normal plane-wave incidence. The impedance condition connects the averaged tangential electric and magnetic fields on the array plane which leads to an equivalent transmission-line model.

Asymmetric Flux Pinning in a Regular Array of Magnetic Dipoles
Physical Review Letters, 1998The effect of a regular array of magnetic dipoles embedded in a superconducting film was investigated. A large asymmetry in critical currents was found between when the magnetic dipoles are aligned and antialigned with respect to an externally applied magnetic field.

A one-dimensional nonlinear dynamical system of gauge-coupled intrasite excitations and lattice vibrations on an infinite one-dimensional regular lattice is studied. The system as a whole is shown to be integrable in the Lax sense and it admits the exact four-component analytical solutions.
