Cognitive and Non-Cognitive Predictors of the Unifed State Exam Performance of Students from Schools with Regular and Advanced Mathematical Curricula [PDF]

open access: yesPsychology in Russia: State of Art, 2018
Background. Exams such as the SAT, ACT, and GCSE are used to give an account of educational outcomes and provide a unifed criterion for university admission.

Regularity for Variational Evolution Integrodifferential Inequalities [PDF]

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
We deal with the regularity for solutions of nonlinear functional integrodifferential equations governed by the variational inequality in a Hilbert space. Moreover, by using the simplest definition of interpolation spaces and the known regularity result, we also prove that the solution mapping from the set of initial and forcing data to the state space

Characterizing Parental Concerns About Lasting Impacts of Treatment in Children With B‐Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer, and while most children in high‐resource settings are cured, therapy carries risks for long‐term toxicities. Understanding parents’ concerns about these late effects is essential to guide anticipatory support and inform evolving therapeutic approaches ...

Predicting the Future Burden of Renal Replacement Therapy in Türkiye Using National Registry Data and Comparative Modeling Approaches

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

Applications of Tauberian Theorem for High-SNR Analysis of Performance over Fading Channels

open access: yes, 2011
This paper derives high-SNR asymptotic average error rates over fading channels by relating them to the outage probability, under mild assumptions. The analysis is based on the Tauberian theorem for Laplace-Stieltjes transforms which is grounded on the ...

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Variation diminution and intervals of sign regular matrices

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
A sign regular matrix is a matrix having the property that its non-zero minors of all orders have, for each order, an identical sign. Such matrices arise in a wide range of applications. In this paper, intervals of real matrices with respect to the usual

Functional quantization and metric entropy for Riemann-Liouville processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We derive a high-resolution formula for the $L^2$-quantization errors of Riemann-Liouville processes and the sharp Kolmogorov entropy asymptotics for related Sobolev balls.

Total variation regularization of shape signals [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2015
This paper introduces the concept of shape signals, i.e., series of shapes which have a natural temporal or spatial ordering, as well as a variational formulation for the regularization of these signals. The proposed formulation can be seen as the shape-valued generalization of the Rudin-Osher-Fatemi (ROF) functional for intensity images.

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.
