Motion of vortices implies chaos in Bohmian mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Bohmian mechanics is a causal interpretation of quantum mechanics in which particles describe trajectories guided by the wave function. The dynamics in the vicinity of nodes of the wave function, usually called vortices, is regular if they are at rest ...

Experimental Investigation on Wave Dissipation of Perforated Pipe Breakwater Under Regular Wave Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The permeable breakwater is an innovative, eco-friendly coastal protection structure that reduces wave impact while minimizing “dead water” and environmental harm. This study introduces a perforated pipe breakwater design with an increasing pipe diameter

Motion of Floating Caisson with Extended Bottom Slab under Regular and Irregular Waves

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
Floating caissons may oscillate primarily due to ocean waves during towing operations. Reducing the oscillation based on the extension part (footing) of the bottom slab of the caissons can efficiently increase the safety of towing maneuvers. However, the

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Prediction of regular wave loads on a fixed offshore oscillating water column-wave energy converter using CFD

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, hydrodynamic wave loads on an offshore stationary–floating oscillating water column (OWC) are investigated via a 2D and 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling based on the RANS equations and the VOF surface capturing scheme.

Dispersive estimates for massive Dirac operators in dimension two

open access: yes, 2017
We study the massive two dimensional Dirac operator with an electric potential. In particular, we show that the $t^{-1}$ decay rate holds in the $L^1\to L^\infty$ setting if the threshold energies are regular.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Extrema of the dynamic pressure in an irrotational regular wave train

open access: yes, 2016
We prove that in a regular wave train, which propagates at the surface of water in irrotational flow over a flat bed, the maximum and minimum of the dynamic pressure occur at the wave crest and at the wave trough, respectively.

Experimental study on the evolution of submerged artificial sandbar-beach profile under the regular waves condition

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Submerged artificial sandbars (SABs) are increasingly favored as an efficient method for beach nourishment, helping to mitigate beach erosion and maintain the sediment transport budget, thus promoting ecological stability.

Laboratory study of wave transformation and wave-induced setup over reef islands under the effect of tidal current

open access: yesShui kexue jinzhan, 2017
To study the characteristics of wave motions over reef islands under the effect of tidal current, laboratory experiments were performed in a wave-current flume to investigate the wave transformation and wave-induced setup in the presence of tidal current.
