Sesquiterpenoid from Rehmannia glutinosa roots
Phytochemistry, 1993Abstract The roots of Rehmannia glutinosa afforded a new sesquiterpenoid and its structure was determined to be 1-(4-methyl-2-furanyl)-2-(5-methyl-5-ethenyl-2-tetrahydrofuranyl)-propan-1-one through examination of its spectroscopic properties.

Ionone glycosides from the roots of Rehmannia glutinosa
Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2014Four new ionone and ionone glycosides (1-4), and a new monoterpene (5), together with 10 known analogues (6-15), were isolated from the air-dried roots of Rehmannia glutinosa. The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data analysis.

Effect of Rehmannia glutinosa on immediate type allergic reaction
International Journal of Immunopharmacology, 1998We investigated the effect of aqueous extract of Rehmannia glutinosa steamed root (RGAE) on the allergic reactions in vivo and in vitro. RGAE dose-dependently inhibited systemic allergic reaction induced by compound 48/80. When RGAE was pre-treated at the same concentrations with systemic allergic reaction test, the plasma histamine levels were reduced

Norcarotenoids of Rehmannia glutinosa var. Hueichingensis
Phytochemistry, 1991Abstract Two new norcarotenoids named trihydroxy-β-ionone and sec -hydroxyaeginetic acid, together with three known compounds, have been isolated from the steamed roots of Rehmannia glutinosa var. hueichingensis . Their structures were determined by chemical and spectral studies, and confirmed by X-ray analysis of trihydroxy-β- ionone acetate.

Effect of Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch extracts on bone metabolism
Clinica Chimica Acta, 2003Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch extracts (RGX) were investigated to determine if they play roles in bone metabolism. The effects on osteoblasts were determined by measuring (1) cell proliferation, (2) alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, (3) mRNA expression of bone-related proteins, (4) transcriptional activity of Runx2, and (5) osteoprotegerin (OPG ...

Antioxidant Activities of Rehmannia glutinosa by Traditional Methods
Korean Journal of Medicinal Crop Science, 2011The objective of this study was to evaluate antioxidant activities of Rehmannia glutinosa (Raw Jihwang) by traditional method. The total phenol content of Rehmannia radix Preparata (the final cycle of Jihwang) was increased to 205%, compared with Rehmannia glutinosa.
