Model coupling friction and adhesion for steel-concrete interfaces [PDF]
The interface behaviour between steel and concrete, during pull-out tests, is numerically investigated using an interface model coupling adhesion and Coulomb friction. This model, first developed by Raous, Cang\'emi, Cocou and Monerie (RCCM), is based on the adhesion intensity variable, introduced by Fr\'emond, which is a surface damage variable.

Transverse Reinforcement in Reinforced Concrete Columns
Abstract In the article we are dealing with the influence of transverse reinforcement to the resistance of a cross-section of the reinforced concrete columns and also with the effective detailing of the column reinforcement. We are verifying the correctness of design guides for detailing of transverse reinforcement.

Subsurface State Bilayer in Tetragonal Ferroelectric BaTiO3
The subsurface Ba2+disorder, reveals the pairs of O vacancies (VO++$V_O^{ + + }$ s) and small polarons (SPe‐SPe−$SP_e^ - $ s) (Figure a–b), with the charge balance, as the following: Ti3++[VO+++SPe−]pair↔Ti4+${{T}_i}^{3 + } + {{[V_O^{ + + } + SP_e^ - ]}_{pair}} \leftrightarrow T_i^{4 + }$ which is consistent with observed low‐energy electron ...

Ductility of 3D printed concrete reinforced with short straight steel fibers
With the number of 3D printed concrete structures rapidly increasing, the demand for concepts that allow for robust and ductile printed objects becomes increasingly pressing. An obvious solution strategy is the inclusion of fibers in the printed material.

3D Printing and Biocementation of Hierarchical Porous Ceramics
Hierarchical porous ceramics are produced at room temperature via 3D printing and bacteria‐driven biocementation. By using ureolytic bacteria to precipitate calcium carbonate between ceramic hollow spheres, the reported manufacturing process offers a sustainable alternative to traditional energy‐intensive approaches and leads to monoliths with higher ...
