Creep Behaviour in Reinforced Masonry Walls Interpreted by Acoustic Emission
Key Engineering Materials, 2009An experimental analysis on a set of strengthened masonry walls has been carried out by means of cyclic loading tests in order to simulate the creep effects. The damage evolution of specimens reinforced by traditional or innovative methods is evaluated by the Acoustic Emission (AE) technique.

3D Asymptotic Model For Cfrp Reinforced Masonry Walls
2003This work proposes a study for CFRP (Carbon Fibre reinforced polymers) symmetric and not symmetric reinforced masonry walls subject to in plane and out of plane actions in the elastic range. Masonry, CFRP reinforcement and reinforced masonry have been identified with a standard elastic continuum by means of a homogenisation method in several ...

Diagonal Compression of Masonry Walls Strengthened with Composite Reinforced Mortar
Key Engineering Materials, 2019The use of inorganic matrix composites to strengthen and retrofit existing masonry and concrete structures has been gaining increasing interest in the last years. Among them, composite reinforced mortar (CRM) systems are a promising solution to increase the shear and flexural capacity of masonry panels. CRMs are comprised of a relatively thin inorganic

DEVELOPMENT OF CONTROLLED ROCKING REINFORCED MASONRY WALLS
2021The structural damage after the Christchurch earthquake (2011) led to extensively damaged facilities that did not collapse but did require demolition, representing more than 70% of the building stock in the central business district. These severe economic losses that result from conventional seismic design clearly show the importance of moving towards ...

Reinforced masonry walls under blast loading
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2000Masonry walls change brittleness and gain ductility with reinforcement in the bed joint. The dynamic force enhancement increase by a factor of 4 in comparison to unreinforced brickwork. Reinforced masonry walls can be used for blast loading conditions. Experimental test results and design rules are described.

Seismic behaviour of reinforced masonry shear walls
1971The overall seismic behaviour of reinforced masonry shear walls is studied. An experimental investigation concerned particularly with the ductility capability, stiffness degradation and load capacity of reinforced masonry wall panels subjected to static cyclic loading is reported.

Local transfer mechanisms in reinforced masonry walls
2000The results of an experimental study on the local transfer mechanisms characterizing the post-elastic behavior of reinforced masonry (r.m.) panels subjected to horizontal loads is here presented. They involve the friction between blocks and between mortar and blocks, and the dowel action and the bond of the bars. A series of specific experimental tests
