A nonconforming element for the Reissner–Mindlin plate

Computers & Structures, 2003
We develop a locking free nonconforming element for the Reissner–Mindlin plate using discontinuous Galerkin techniques, and prove optimal error estimates.

Plate spectral elements based upon Reissner–Mindlin theory

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1995
AbstractPlate bending spectral elements based upon the Reissner–Mindlin theory is developed for a rectangular plate. Numerical comparison studies for static and eigenvalue problems, demonstrate the excellent performance and robustness of the present method.

Mathematical Models of Reissner–Mindlin Thermoviscoelastic Plates

Journal of Thermal Stresses, 2006
In this paper we investigate mathematical models describing deformations and thermal variations of a thin homogeneous thermoviscoelastic plate. A hereditary non-Fourier constitutive law for the heat flux and some heat power constitutive equation with linear memory are considered. The resulting models are derived in the framework of the well-established

Dynamics of nonlinear Reissner–Mindlin–Timoshenko plate systems

Mathematische Nachrichten, 2023
AbstractThe problem of Reissner–Mindlin–Timoshenko plate systems with nonlinear damping terms is considered. The main result is the existence of global attractors. By showing the system is gradient and asymptotic smoothness via a stabilizability inequality, we establish the existence of global attractors with finite fractal dimension. The continuity of

A Discontinuous Petrov–Galerkin Method for Reissner–Mindlin Plates

SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2023
The development of a discontinuous Petrov-Galerkin method for the Reissner-Mindlin plate bending model is presented. Transverse shear deformations are taken into account in the strain-displacement relations. This method is based on a variational formulation. Approximations of kinematic and force factors are used.
