Plate spectral elements based upon Reissner–Mindlin theory
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1995AbstractPlate bending spectral elements based upon the Reissner–Mindlin theory is developed for a rectangular plate. Numerical comparison studies for static and eigenvalue problems, demonstrate the excellent performance and robustness of the present method.

A JUSTIFICATION OF THE REISSNER–MINDLIN PLATE THEORY THROUGH VARIATIONAL CONVERGENCE
Analysis and Applications, 2007We provide a justification of the Reissner–Mindlin plate theory, using linear three-dimensional elasticity as framework and Γ-convergence as technical tool. Essential to our developments is the selection of a transversely isotropic material class whose stored energy depends on (first and) second gradients of the displacement field.

Homogenization for macro-fiber composites using Reissner–Mindlin plate theory
Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2016This article deals with the equivalent elastic and piezoelectric constants of macro-fiber composite patches. Two types of macro-fiber composite patches, macro-fiber composite-d31 and macro-fiber composite-d33, are considered. The former one is dominated by the d31 effect, while the latter one mainly uses the d33 effect.
