Investigation on Cable Rejuvenation by Simulating Cable Operation
Further research on retired cable rejuvenation via heat treatment was investigated in this paper. Three retired cables with service year of 7, 15 and 30 years were used and annealed at different temperatures following two different heat treatment methods.

Repeated summer drought and re-watering during the first growing year of oak (Quercus petraea) delay autumn senescence and bud burst in the following spring [PDF]
Climate change predicts harsher summer droughts for mid-latitudes in Europe. To enhance our understanding of the putative impacts on forest regeneration, we studied the response of oak seedlings (Quercus petraea) to water deficit.

Rejuvenation of metallic glasses by non-affine thermal strain. [PDF]
When a spatially uniform temperature change is imposed on a solid with more than one phase, or on a polycrystal of a single, non-cubic phase (showing anisotropic expansion-contraction), the resulting thermal strain is inhomogeneous (non-affine).

Annealing Effects on XLPE Insulation of Retired High-Voltage Cable
In this paper, the performance of several annealing methods on three retired cables and the annealing effects on the improvement in the thermal and electrical properties of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation were discussed.

Academic debate still exists as to whether and how multi-scale microstructure recovery is linked to creep properties rejuvenation of superalloys. We propose a rejuvenation heat treatment (RHT) for one single-crystal superalloy crept at 1100 °C/120 MPa ...

Prevention of Protein Glycation by Natural Compounds [PDF]
Non-enzymatic protein glycosylation (glycation) contributes to many diseases and aging of organisms. It can be expected that inhibition of glycation may prolong the lifespan.

More oxygen during development enhanced flight performance but not thermal tolerance of Drosophila melanogaster [PDF]
High temperatures can stress animals by raising the oxygen demand above the oxygen supply. Consequently, animals under hypoxia could be more sensitive to heating than those exposed to normoxia.

Skeletal muscle as an experimental model of choice to study tissue aging and rejuvenation. [PDF]
Skeletal muscle is among the most age-sensitive tissues in mammal organisms. Significant changes in its resident stem cells (i.e., satellite cells, SCs), differentiated cells (i.e., myofibers), and extracellular matrix cause a decline in tissue ...

Gamete Formation Resets the Aging Clock in Yeast [PDF]
Gametogenesis is a process whereby a germ cell differentiates into haploid gametes. We found that, in budding yeast, replicatively aged cells remove age-induced cellular damage during gametogenesis.

Partial-solution rejuvenation heat treatment of directionally solidified DSM11 superalloy
In view of the microstructure damage and property degradation of directionally solidified DSM11 service turbine blades, it is urgent to study the partial-solution rejuvenation heat treatment.
