Compressing High-Dimensional Data Spaces Using Non-Differential Augmented Vector Quantization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
query processing times and space requirements. Database compression has been discovered to alleviate the I/O bottleneck, reduce disk space, improve disk access speed, speed up query, reduce overall retrieval time and increase the effective I/O ...

REENGINEERING OF RELATIONAL DATABASES TO OBJECTORIENTED DATABASE [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Engineering and Technology, 2014
Several information systems use relational database systems for effective dealing, storage, and access ing large measures of data. On the contrary, object-oriented programming has earne d wide acceptance in the programming community as a epitome for developing typical applications that are easy to expand and up hold. This paper deal with development of

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Tonic signaling of the B‐cell antigen‐specific receptor is a common functional hallmark in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell phosphoproteomes at early disease stages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...

Aberrant expression of nuclear prothymosin α contributes to epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.

INDEXES SELECTION FOR BLOCKS OF RELATED SQL QUERIES [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Computer Science, 2012
This paper discusses the problem of minimizing the response time for a given database workload by a proper choice of indexes. The main objective of our contribution is to illustrate the database queries as a group and search for good indexes for the ...

Kinship Verification from Videos using Spatio-Temporal Texture Features and Deep Learning

open access: yes, 2016
Automatic kinship verification using facial images is a relatively new and challenging research problem in computer vision. It consists in automatically predicting whether two persons have a biological kin relation by examining their facial attributes ...

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

An Interoperable Cartographic Database

open access: yesKartografija i Geoinformacije, 2007
The concept of producing a prototype of interoperable cartographic database is explored in this paper, including the possibilities of integration of different geospatial data into the database management system and their visualization on the Internet ...
