CATEGORICAL RELATIONAL DATABASE MODELS [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of informatics and cybernetics, 1984
A category of relational models and its quotient category are defined and their basic properties are discussed. Moreover a categorical join dependency and a category of adjoint models, which dualize the notion of relational models, are studied.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Representing the Translation Relation in a Bilingual Wordnet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Proceeding volume: 8This paper describes representing translations in the Finnish wordnet, FinnWordNet (FiWN), and constructing the FiWN database. FiWN was created by translating all the word senses of the Princeton WordNet (PWN) into Finnish and by ...

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

INDEXES SELECTION FOR BLOCKS OF RELATED SQL QUERIES [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Computer Science, 2012
This paper discusses the problem of minimizing the response time for a given database workload by a proper choice of indexes. The main objective of our contribution is to illustrate the database queries as a group and search for good indexes for the ...

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Database Slicing on Relational Databases

open access: yesActa Cybernetica, 2014
Many software systems today use databases to permanently store their data. Testing, bug finding and migration are complex problems in the case of databases that contain many records. Here, our method can speed up these processes if we can select a smaller piece of the database (called a slice) that contains all of the records belonging to the slicing ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.
