A Closed-Loop Toolchain for Neural Network Simulations of Learning Autonomous Agents

open access: yesFrontiers in Computational Neuroscience, 2019
Neural network simulation is an important tool for generating and evaluating hypotheses on the structure, dynamics, and function of neural circuits. For scientific questions addressing organisms operating autonomously in their environments, in particular

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Investigation of Di-ethylhexyl Phthalate Migration by Applying Magnetic Solid Phase Extraction Method Followed by GC-FID Determination

open access: yesNutrition and Food Sciences Research, 2016
Background and Objectives: The addition of plasticizers (mainly phthalates and adipates) makes plastic flexible and popular for packaging, storing and preserving food, water, and so on.

Ensuring Stable Operation of Wind Farms Connected to Distribution Networks

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Wind farms with type IV wind turbines from various manufacturers are being massively put into operation. These wind turbines comply with the requirements of the grid codes of the countries where they are designed and/or manufactured, but do not factor in

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Tingkat Pengetahuan Polisi Lalu Lintas Tentang Penanganan Korban Kecelakaan Dengan Cedera Kepala Di Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta

open access: yesJurnal Keperawatan Klinis dan Komunitas (Clinical and Community Nursing Journal), 2019
Background: Pre hospital patient management is a significant part to decrease early and late death. Head injury in traffic accident victims may increase intracranial pressure which leads to decrease victim’s consciousness.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

The Structure of Prejudice and Its Relation to Party Preferences in Belgium: Flanders and Wallonia Compared

open access: yesPsychologica Belgica, 2017
We test two assumptions of the generalized prejudice literature. First, that the structure of generalized prejudice (i.e. how prejudices are interrelated) is dependent on the intergroup context.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
