Dolos Packing Density and Effect of Relative Block Density
Accuracy and compatibility of measuring and testing techniques are discussed briefly and a plea is made for standardization to avoid, as far as possible, deviations in test results of different laboratories. One of the main causes of these differences is inconsistency in Dolos packing densities and corresponding layer thicknesses or shape factors.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Bubbles in Planetary Nebulae and Clusters of Galaxies: Instabilities at Bubble Fronts
I study the stability of off-center low-density more or less spherical (fat) bubbles in clusters of galaxies and in planetary nebulae (PNs) to Rayleigh-Taylor (RT) instability.

To improve statistical approaches for near real-time land cover change detection in nonGaussian time-series data, we propose a supervised land cover change detection framework in which a MODIS NDVI time series is modeled as a triply modulated cosine ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Centrality dependence of strangeness and (anti)hyperon production at BNL RHIC
We evaluate strangeness produced in Au--Au interactions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=200$ GeV, as function of reaction participant number $A$, and obtain the relative strange quark content at hadronization.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Laser powder bed fusion process optimization of CoCrMo alloy assisted by machine-learning
Gaussian process regression (GPR) model of machine learning method was employed to identify the optimal process window for high-performance CoCrMo alloy in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), considering density (≥99%) and surface roughness (≤7 μm) as key ...
