Oxygen Vacancy‐Enriched Platinum Single‐Atom Nanozyme Wrapped in Nanoislands: Unlocking Catalytic Activity and Reprogramming Redox Microenvironment for Osteonecrosis Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CeO2‐x/Pt single‐atom nano‐island is constructed via low‐temperature reduction, featuring abundant oxygen vacancies and an island–sea structure. It delivers outstanding multi‐enzyme‐mimetic activity and ROS‐scavenging efficiency. Density functional theory reveals optimized electronic structures and reaction pathways.

IKKβ and USP28 Regulate HEY1 Stability to Promote Cancer Stemness and Immune Evasion in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The uncovered IKKβ‐USP28‐HEY1 axis fuels cancer stemness and immune evasion in hepatocellular carcinoma. USP28 deubiquitinates HEY1 upon IKKβ‐mediated phosphorylation, conferring PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade resistance. Pharmacological inhibition of USP28 sensitizes resistant tumors to anti‐PD‐1 immunotherapy, revealing a promising therapeutic strategy ...

The relative contributions of lean tissue mass and fat mass to bone density in young women

Bone, 2005
Although obesity is associated with increased risk of many chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, and cancer, there is little evidence to suggest that obesity increases risk of osteoporosis. In fact, both weight and body mass index (BMI) are positive predictors of bone mass in adults, suggesting that those who are ...

Relative fat mass as an estimator of body fat percentage in Chilean adults

European Journal of Clinical Nutrition
The Relative Fat Mass (RFM) is an alternative index to body mass index (BMI) for estimating whole body fat percentage (BF%). Our aims were to determine the accuracy of the RFM for 1) identifying individuals with elevated BF% and, 2) estimating the BF% compared to Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) in a Chilean adult population.Body composition was ...

Relative accuracy of body adiposity index and relative fat mass in participants with and without down syndrome

European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2018
The body adiposity index (BAI) and relative fat mass (RFM) are anthropometric measures developed to estimate body composition (%Fat). There is limited research validating these methods of body composition assessment in adults with Down syndrome (DS). The aim of this study was to examine the accuracy of the BAI and RFM in a sample of adults with- and ...

Relative Overhydration of Fat‐free Mass in Postobese versus Never‐Obese Subjects

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2000
Abstract: Obese subjects who undergo gastrointestinal surgery for weight reduction have relatively greater loss of body cell mass (BCM) than of extracellular fluid. Although the mechanism is uncertain, an implication is that weight‐reduced, surgically treated obese subjects are relatively overhydrated.
