Rotavirus infections and climate variability in Dhaka, Bangladesh: a time-series analysis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Attempts to explain the clear seasonality of rotavirus infections have been made by relating disease incidence to climate factors; however, few studies have disentangled the effects of weather from other factors that might cause seasonality.

A model for Sclerotinia sclerotiorum infection and disease development in lettuce, based on the effects of temperature, relative humidity and ascospore density [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The plant pathogen Sclerotinia sclerotiorum can cause serious losses on lettuce crops worldwide and as for most other susceptible crops, control relies on the application of fungicides, which target airborne ascospores.

Multiresonator-Based Printable Chipless RFID for Relative Humidity Sensing

open access: yesProceedings, 2017
We present a chipless RFID for relative humidity sensing. It consists of three spiral resonators coupled to a 50 Ω microstrip line. One resonator is used for humidity sensing, and the other two are used for encoding ID.

Humidity Drift Modeling and Compensation of MEMS Gyroscope Based on IAWTD-CSVM-EEMD Algorithms

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
A novel fusion algorithm is proposed based on Improved Adaptive Wavelet Threshold De-noising (IAWTD), C-means Support Vector Machine (CSVM) and Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) method to eliminate the humidity drift of MEMS gyroscope. Firstly,

Mould and winter indoor relative humidity in low income households in England

open access: yes, 2006
This paper examines the extent to which variation in heating-season, indoor relative humidity (RH) and mould occurrence in English households is explained by dwelling and household characteristics. It is based on analysis of data from a national study of

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

A microwave interferometer system for humidity measurement

open access: yes, 1998
A microwave interferometer system for humidity measurement has been developed. The system is based on the sensitivity of the air permittivity to the water vapor content and offers a faster response and a better air pollution insensitivity with respect to

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Relative Humidity and Drying Shrinkage Performance of Cement Stabilized Macadam Incorporating 0~2.36 mm Recycled Fine Aggregate

open access: yesTaiyuan Ligong Daxue xuebao, 2022
In order to improve the application of recycled fine aggregate (RFA) with a particle size of 0~2.36 mm in cement stabilized macadam (CSM) base, 12 groups of CSM specimens with different cement content and 0~2.36 mm RFA content were designed, in ...

Condensation Targeter II: modelling surface relative humidity to predict mould growth in dwellings

open access: yes, 1999
Condensation and mould growth are reported as being problems in an estimated 4.2 million dwellings in England, resulting in poor health for the occupants and substantial damage to the fabric of the building.
