Relative Intensity Noise of an injected semiconductor laser [PDF]
A study of the Relative Intensity Noise (RIN) of an optically injected semiconductor laser is presented versus the injected power. The seeded laser is then operating from an amplifying regime towards a locking one, at the same wavelength than that of the master one.

HIGHLY SENSITIVE MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUE OF RELATIVE INTENSITY NOISE AND LASER CHARACTERIZATION [PDF]
A sensitive technique to measure the relative intensity noise of a laser is described. Such experiment is a useful tool for laser characterizations, allowing direct measurement of physical parameters like relaxation oscillation frequencies and damping factor. Examples of determination of such parameters are given.

Depolarization of external optical feedback on VCSEL and variation of relative intensity noise [PDF]
By using of optical depolarizer, polarization dependence of external optical feedback on VCSEL is drastically reduced. Relative intensity noise and transmission characteristics of VCSEL are experimentally investigated under various polarization states of external optical feedback.

Dependence of optical amplifier noise figure on relative-intensity-noise
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1995The noise figure of an optical amplifier is given by F=2n/sub sp/(n/sub sp//spl ges/1 is the spontaneous emission factor) when the dominant noise is signal-spontaneous beat noise. A general expression for noise figure is derived, considering (in addition to the signal-spontaneous beat noise) the effects of spontaneous-spontaneous noise, relative ...

Relative Intensity Noise Measurement of a Fiber Laser
2019 18th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN), 2019Relative intensity noise (RIN) is used to characterize the temporal stability of a standard fiber laser. And the RIN spectra of an oscillator and a master oscillator power amplifier at same output power are compared.

Optoelectronic oscillators (OEOs) have recently been considered very good candidates for producing ultra-low phase noise radio frequency (RF) oscillations. One of the most important noise sources of any OEO is the relative intensity noise (RIN) of the optical field in the optical part of this system.

Relative intensity noise of laser-diode arrays
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 1991Relative intensity noise in GaAs-GaAlAs semiconductor laser arrays was measured, compared with that in single-stripe lasers, and reviewed in the context of laser noise theory. When all the light is gathered and back reflections removed, all the arrays tested show comparable noise levels.

Relative intensity noise suppression of intensity modulator and semiconductor optical amplifier
Eleventh International Conference on Information Optics and Photonics (CIOP 2019), 2019The source of the high-precision fiber optic gyroscope is a high-power erbium-doped fiber source. As the power of the source increases, the relative intensity noise becomes the main noise. Of all the noise created by the source, the relative intensity noise always restricts the random walk coefficient of the fiber optic gyroscope. So, the method of the
