Virtual reality relaxation for the general population: a systematic review

open access: yesSocial Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology, 2021
Relaxation has significant restorative properties and implications for public health. However, modern, busy lives leave limiting time for relaxation.

Nature-aligned Education Technologies as the Basis of Forming an Individual Noospheric Consciousness

open access: yesОткрытое образование (Москва), 2017
With the aim of identifying the mechanisms of the emergence of positive changes in the formation of students’ consciousness, factors determining natural conformity of perceiving reality are considered.

Structural relaxation in silicate melts and non-Newtonian melt rheology in geologic processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The timescale of structural relaxation in a silicate melt defines the transition from liquid (relaxed) to glassy (unrelaxed) behavior. Structural relaxation in silicate melts can be described by a relaxation time, , consistent with the observation that ...

Molecular Dynamics of Jelly Candies by Means of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Relaxometry

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
1H spin-lattice Nuclear Magnetic Resonance relaxation studies have been performed for different kinds of Haribo jelly and Vidal jelly in a very broad frequency range from about 10 kHz to 10 MHz to obtain insight into the dynamic and structural properties

Functional Relaxation and Guided Imagery as Complementary Therapy in Asthma: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background: Asthma is a frequently disabling and almost invariably distressing disease that has a high overall prevalence. Although relaxation techniques and hypnotherapeutic interventions have proven their effectiveness in numerous trials, relaxation ...

On the Theory of Relaxation [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Glasgow Mathematical Association, 1953
§ 1. When a numerical method of obtaining an approximate solution of a linear differential equation is employed, the process involves two distinct types of approximation. The region of integration having been covered with a regular net, the differential equation and the appropriate boundary conditions are replaced by finite difference equations which ...

Experimental theoretical modelling of concrete shrinkage in massive structures [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
In spite of the high culture of modern construction, the majority of massive structures erected in different countries of the world cannot avoid shrinkage cracks during the curing process, which negatively affect both the stiffness and durability of such

Hydrogels with tunable stress relaxation regulate stem cell fate and activity

open access: yesNature Materials, 2015
Natural extracellular matrices (ECMs) are viscoelastic and exhibit stress relaxation. However, hydrogels used as synthetic ECMs for three-dimensional (3D) culture are typically elastic.

Relaxing axions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1999
A mechanism for lifting the cosmological upper bound on the axion decay constant, $f_a$, is proposed. It entails the near masslessness of the radial mode whose vacuum expectation value is $f_a$. Energy in the coherent oscillations of the axion field in the early universe gets fed into the motion of the radial mode, from which it is then redshifted away.
