Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Poling effect on distribution of quenched random fields in a uniaxial relaxor ferroelectric
The frequency dependence of the dielectric permitivity's maximum has been studied for poled and unpoled doped relaxor strontium barium niobate $Sr_{0.61}Ba_{0.39}Nb_{2}O_{6}:Cr^{3+}$ (SBN-61:Cr). In both cases the maximum found is broad and the frequency

Ferroelectric and dielectric characterization studies on relaxor- and ferroelectric-like strontium-barium niobates [PDF]
Ferroelectric domain structure evolution induced by an external electric field was investigated by means of nematic liquid crystal (NLC) method in two strontium-barium niobate single crystals of nominal composition: Sr_{0.70}Ba_{0.30}Nb_{2}O_{6} (SBN:70 -

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Dipole-glass concept and history-dependent phenomena in relaxors
The possibility to explain basic physical properties of relaxors within the concept of the dipole-glass transition is discussed. We argue that this concept provides the only consistent picture accounting of all known anomalous features of relaxors.

Anelastic relaxor behavior of Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 [PDF]
Elastic storage modulus and loss of relaxor lead magnesium niobate ceramics, Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3, have been measured with dynamic mechanical analyzer in single cantilever mode in the temperature range from 170 K to 320 K and at frequencies from 0.1 Hz to 50

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Ferroelectric-to-relaxor crossover in Sb doped PLZT x/52/48 (2 ≤ x ≤ 16) piezoelectric ceramics
Dielectric behavior and diffuse phase transition have been investigated in Sb doped lead lanthanum zirconate titanate (PLZT) ceramics to understand the role of La and Sb in ferroelectric-to-relaxor crossover.
