Adaptive relay selection for hybrid relay systems
2010 The 2nd International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE), 2010Hybrid relay systems using Amplify-and-Forward protocol (AF) and Decode-and-Forward protocol (DF) together are introduced in cooperative networks. For hybrid systems, we propose adaptive relay selection scheme to maximize the overall received Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) at the destination.

Hybrid relay selection in heterogenous relay networks
2010 Conference Record of the Forty Fourth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2010In this paper heterogenous networks are envisioned where multiple amplify-forward (AF) and decode-forward (DF) relays coexist. Consider a representative case with one source, one destination, and multiple relays, where at each point in time a subset (e.g. two) of the relays can be active simultaneously.

Selective Relay-Activation for Conditional DF Relaying
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2014This paper considers a conditional decode-and-forward (DF) based cooperative system where a source (S) with multiple (M) antennas transmits information to a single-antenna destination (D) with the help of multiple (L ≤ M-1) single-antenna relays ({R_i}).

Relay selection in multiple clustered relay networks
2015 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium (WTS), 2015We consider the downlink of a realistic cellular network composed of multiple clusters, each of which includes multiple relays and a destination terminal. In this scenario, the interference among the clusters is a critical issue, affecting the end-to-end performance of the system significantly.

Relay Selection Algorithm for Cognitive Relay Network
Wireless Personal Communications, 2017In the cognitive relay network, due to the different fading characteristics of communication links, not all relay nodes have constructive impacts on the system performance. A relay selection algorithm is proposed to obtain the minimum relay transmission power while satisfying the secondary user SINR requirements and interference temperature constraints.

SNR-based relay selection scheme for cooperative relay networks
2015 International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), 2015In this paper, a cooperative relaying scheme where optimum threshold value based relay selection algorithm is considered for decode and forward (DF) based cooperative relaying networks is proposed over the Nakagami-m fading channels. Relay selection scheme with optimum threshold value is an effective method to decrease the error propagations that occur

Opportunistic relays selection for successive relaying with inter-relay interference
2015 IEEE 12th Malaysia International Conference on Communications (MICC), 2015In the presence of inter-relay interference, the capacity performance of successive relaying can be severely degraded. Existing literature on successive relaying does not consider the channel quality of the inter-relay channel in maximising the capacity performance.

2011 - MILCOM 2011 Military Communications Conference, 2011
In this paper we present opportunistic relay communication strategies of decode and forward relaying. The channel that we are considering includes pathloss, shadowing, and fast fading effects. We find a simple outage probability formula for opportunistic relaying in the channel, and validate the results by comparing it with the exact outage probability.

Relay selection for asynchronous AF relay networks with frequency selective channels
2016 IEEE 17th International Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC), 2016In this paper, relay selection schemes in asynchronous multi-relay network for frequency selective channels have been investigated. In particular, distributed Alamouti space time coding and amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying are exploited, and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is implemented with adaptive cyclic prefix (CP) to deal with ...

A Novel Relay Selection Algorithm for Relaying Networks
2009 IEEE 70th Vehicular Technology Conference Fall, 2009Cooperative diversity has been recently proposed as a way to form virtual antenna arrays that provide dramatic gains in slow fading wireless environments. In a multiple-relay network, the opportunistic relay selection scheme has been shown to outperform any other strategy that involves the conventional all-participate scheme.
