Reliability Assessment of Wind Farm Electrical System Based on a Probability Transfer Technique

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
The electrical system of a wind farm has a significant influence on the wind farm reliability and electrical energy yield. The disconnect switch installed in an electrical system cannot only improve the operating flexibility, but also enhance the ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Reliability of subjective wound assessment

open access: yesBurns, 2011
Assessment of the take of split-skin graft and the rate of epithelialisation are important parameters in burn surgery. Such parameters are normally estimated by the clinician in a bedside procedure. This study investigates whether this subjective assessment is reliable for graft take and wound epithelialisation.Observers involved in the field of burns (

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Evolución de los métodos de evaluación de la confiabilidad para redes eléctricas de distribución

open access: yesRevista Científica de Ingeniería Energética, 2010
This paper intends to offer a brief panoramic about the evolution of the reliability assessment methods andthe specificities of the same ones during the characterization of the electrical distribution networks and toshow how the utilization of either ...

Modeling viewpoints for assessing reliability [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 20th conference on Winter simulation - WSC '88, 1988
This paper is the third in a series of papers dealing with model evolution and its importance in problem-solving when employing simulation as an analysis tool. In the paper, reliability assessment is used as a vehicle for presenting modeling viewpoints and constructs. As in the previous papers, the assessment of the worth of a model is not made.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Reliability Assessment of a Series System with Weibull-Distributed Components Based on Zero-Failure Data

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study focuses on the reliability assessment of a series system composed of Weibull-distributed components. Because high-reliability components rarely fail during life testing or actual operation, conventional system reliability analysis methods ...
