On optimization of pressure-relief parameters of water jet slots in deep rockburst coal seams

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2023
In order to determine the optimal parameters of pressure relief by high-pressure water jet slotting in deep rockburst coal seams, the principles of pressure relief and impact prevention are analyzed through numerical simulation and theoretical deduction.

Pressure Characteristics of Maxillary and Mandibular Edentulous Impressions: An In-vitro Study

open access: yesRUHS Journal of Health Sciences, 2023
Introduction: One major factor that determines the stability and retention of prosthesis is the amount of pressure produced during final impression. The aim of the present study was to assess the pressure changes created during impression process by ...

RELIEF FEATURES OF LOWLAND AREAS AS INDICATORS OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL POTENTIAL

open access: yesOpvscvla archaeologica, 2018
This paper presents the use of the data obtained by terrestrial topographic survey in analysis and assessment of archaeological potential of lowland areas. The analysis is based on investigation of relief features of the site Kurilovec-Belinščica, which is located in the lowland area of Turopolje region.

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Dynamic stress characteristics of isolated coal by fault cutting and collaborative pressure relief technology

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
In order to study the stress characteristics of isolated coal body formed by fault cutting, the stress concentration area of isolated coal body can be prevented from impact risk during the mining of the working face.

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...
