Self excited variable reluctance generator

IAS '97. Conference Record of the 1997 IEEE Industry Applications Conference Thirty-Second IAS Annual Meeting, 2002
This paper presents a feasibility study of the use of permanent magnets for the purpose of self exciting a variable reluctance generator. A suggested concept for evaluation is the use of a permanent magnet material extended axially on the stator core, but separated from the magnetic material stack by an insulator.

A switched reluctance variable speed generator

CCECE 2003 - Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering. Toward a Caring and Humane Technology (Cat. No.03CH37436), 2004
The paper presents the switched reluctance variable speed generator system. The structure of the switched reluctance generator, the rotor position detector, the exciting power converter and the controller are given. The mathematical models of the system are also given. Two control strategies of the constant-power output control with the constant output

Generating with the switched reluctance motor

Proceedings of 1994 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition - ASPEC'94, 2002
The switched reluctance motor (SRM) is being developed for aircraft engine starter/generator applications. In these applications the SRM operates as a generator as well as a motor. This development is taking place because the SRM is unique in its operation as a generator compared to other machine types in that it does not employ permanent magnets or a ...

A digital control for switched reluctance generators

2011 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics, 2011
This paper presents a novel digital control technique for switched reluctance generators (SRGs). Voltage feedback control is used in the proposed approach. This control strategy can be implemented easily with both PWM and hysteresis switching schemes. The SRG is modeled in order to find the proper control parameters.

Three-phase autonomous reluctance generator

IEE Proceedings - Electric Power Applications, 2001
The three-phase autonomous reluctance generator is analysed. It is shown that the linear mathematical model of the generator in the rotor reference frame is composed of time-invariant differential equations. The effect of the load on the stability of the system is considered.

Parametrically driven variable-reluctance generator

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1990
In the parametrically driven variable-reluctance generator, the inductance of an iron-core inductor is varied at an acoustic frequency by an external force. Nonlinear effects thereby absorb mechanical power from the external force and deliver electrical power to a load connected to the inductor, with the electrical phenomena occurring at half the ...

A GENERAL THEORY OF THE PARAMETRIC RELUCTANCE MOTOR

Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1981
ABSTRACT The parannetric motor is a variable-reluctance machine which, despite the absence of a rotor winding, operates asynchronously. Although the characteristics of this device have been investigated, a theory which allows for the cyclically varying nature of the rotor speed has not been presented previously.

Control system of switched reluctance generator

2017 IEEE Conference of Russian Young Researchers in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EIConRus), 2017
In this paper, a three-phase 12/8 switched reluctance generator is taken as the study object and a control system based on that generator is designed. In that system, the digital signal controller applied for is dsPIC30F6010, and power converter circuit adopt asymmetric half-bridge topology, and the main switches use power MOSFET.

Self-excited switched reluctance generator

XI Brazilian Power Electronics Conference, 2011
This paper presents a study on the behavior of the self-excited switched reluctance generator (SSRG). Following an extensive bibliographic review about SSRGs, the mathematical model, principle of operation and simulation results of the generator dynamics is presented. A capacitor partially charged, in parallel with the load is used as a mean to provide

Investigation of self-excitation in reluctance generators

2017 IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference (IEMDC), 2017
In this paper, an analytical model in the dq reference frame is developed to recognize the steady-state of the self-excited reluctance generator, considering no-load and resistive load conditions. A fast method to estimate the minimum capacitance requirements is proposed. Experiments are carried out to verify the analytical results.
