Applications of Remote Patient Monitoring
Primary Care: Clinics in Office Practice, 2022Remote patient monitoring programs collect and analyze a variety of health-related data to detect clinical deterioration with the goal of early intervention. There are many program designs with various deployed devices, monitoring schemes, and escalation protocols.

The commoditization of computer hardware and software has enabled a new computing paradigm whereby computers will sense, calculate, and act on our behalf, either with or without human interaction as best fits the circumstances. Further, this will occur in an everyday environment, not just when a person is working at a desk. This paradigm shift was made

Nursing Management (Springhouse), 1997
A successful telemetry placement system moves into five medical/surgical areas and two step-down units. The updated equipment included an alarm gateway with an arrhythmia detection system. Telemetry signals are transmitted to a pager worn by nurses; remote display monitors allow nurses to eyeball arrhythmias and reset their alarm without going to a ...

Monitoring, Remote Measurements
2018A special group of applications is “monitoring” where a series of moisture measurements are to be done in the same position at a number of occasions. This kind of application requires certain measures to overcome some special challenges when measurements are done during a longer period of time.

Remote Monitoring of Rodenticide Depletion
IEEE Internet of Things Journal, 2019Commensal rats and mice are a major pest. Commercial-scale control measures require frequent manual checking of rodenticide levels in bait stations and searching for evidence of activity. In this paper, we propose a low power remote monitoring system, which has a projected battery life of over 12 months, which wirelessly transmits bait and battery data.
