Material Removal Rate in Flat Lapping
Journal of Manufacturing Processes, 1999Abstract Lapping is a critical technology in a number of precision manufacturing applications. Previous research has focused primarily on mechanisms of material removal and the effects of input variables on material removal rate (MRR). The behavior of MRR in lapping processes when the standard input variables-workpiece pressure, relative velocity of ...

Phytoremediation removal rates of benzene, toluene, and chlorobenzene
International Journal of Phytoremediation, 2018Phytoremediation is a sustainable remedial approach, although performance efficacy is rarely reported. In this study, we assessed a phytoremediation plot treating benzene, toluene, and chlorobenzene. A comparison of the calculated phytoremediation removal rate with estimates of onsite contaminant mass was used to forecast cleanup periods.

Soil removal as a rate process
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1964AbstractThe rate of soil removal during multiple cycle washing has been studied for three artificially soiled cotton test cloths. Results are considered in relation to a soil removal rate concept proposed some years ago by Vaughn, Vittone, and Smith. It is shown that the rate of removal for these soils, when washed in the Terg‐O‐Tometer with a built ...

Removal rate model for magnetorheological finishing of glass
Applied Optics, 2007Magnetorheological finishing (MRF) is a deterministic subaperture polishing process. The process uses a magnetorheological (MR) fluid that consists of micrometer-sized, spherical, magnetic carbonyl iron (CI) particles, nonmagnetic polishing abrasives, water, and stabilizers.

Studies on the maximal hepatic sulfobromophthalein removal rate
The American Journal of Digestive Diseases, 1963The hepatic removal of BSP from the blood during continuous intravenous infusion was calculated. The technic adopted in these researches has achieved results which complete and partly modify previously published conclusions. By using very variable rates of infusion, the existence of two different patterns could be demonstrated.

Effect of the Rate of Heat Removal on the Rate of Frost Heaving
Engineering Geology, 1979Abstract Relations between the rate of frost heaving and the rate of heat removal from the freezing front were examined under the following conditions. While the temperature of the unfrozen part of a sample saturated with water was kept at nearly 0°C throughout an experiment, the temperature of a coolant was reduced automatically at the rate of 4.5°C/

Maximum Rates of Nitrate Removal in a Denitrification Wall
Journal of Environmental Quality, 2005ABSTRACTDenitrification walls are constructed by mixing a carbon source such as sawdust into soils through which ground water passes. These systems can reduce nitrate inputs to receiving waters by enhancing denitrification. Maximum rates of nitrate removal by denitrification need to be determined for design purposes.
