Bounds in Melting Problems with Arbitrary Rates of Liquid Removal

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1966
A slab, whose material properties are dependent on both temperature and position, is insulated on one face and heated on the other according to either prescribed heat flux or temperature, so that eventually it begins to melt. After melting has started, a portion of the molten material is instantaneously removed at some prescribed rate. It is shown that

Removal rate of [3H]hyaluronan injected subcutaneously in rabbits

American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 1990
Hyaluronan is an important constituent of the extracellular matrix in skin, and recent studies suggest that there is a pool of easily removable ("free") hyaluronan drained by lymph. The removal rate of free hyaluronan in skin was measured from the elimination of [3H]hyaluronan, injected subcutaneously in 13 rabbits.

High complication rate after syndesmotic screw removal

Injury, 2015
The aim of this study was to determine the rate of complications after routine syndesmotic screw removal. All patients who underwent syndesmotic screw removal at our hospital between 2007 and 2012 were included in the study. Patient demographics, surgical characteristics, radiographic evaluation and complications were recorded from the patients' charts.

Rate of removal of collagen and mineral from bone and cartilage

Metabolism, 1969
Abstract The quantitative relationship between collagen and mineral dynamics in bone and costal cartilage has been studied. Young rats were injected simultaneously with both 14 C-proline and 85 Sr. The animals were sacrificed at intervals ranging from 1–20 days after injection.

Removal rates of subdermal levonorgestrel implants.

The Journal of reproductive medicine, 1995
This study attempted to quantify an achievable removal rate of subdermal levonorgestrel implants (SLIs) in an unselected population and develop strategies for increasing continuation. Over 16 months, 1,076 SLIs were inserted in eligible patients from a lower socioeconomic group at high risk for unintended pregnancy.
