THE EFFECT OF EUTHYROIDAL HYPERMETABOLISM ON CORTISOL REMOVAL RATES
The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1961Cortisol secretion and removal rates were determined in 6 leukemia patients during a hypermetabolic phase of their disease, and again when the metabolic rate was normal following appropriate chemotherapy. The hypermetabolic phase was associated with an increased rate of secretion of cortisol and a normal or diminished plasma removal rate. This suggests

Buffer Length for Erlang Input and Constant Removal Rate
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1970The problem of the length of a buffer store required for an Erlang input rate where words are removed at regular intervals is discussed. Analytical expressions relating buffer length to the loss resulting from overflow are derived. Graphical results are presented for a range of Erlang distributions.

The effect of redistribution on aerosol removal rates
Journal of Aerosol Science, 1992Abstract A simplified model is constructed for an aerosol interacting with a vapour-gas mixture in a well-mixed cavity. An accurate form is deduced for the initial equilibration timescale between the aerosol and the surrounding mixture, and the corresponding supersaturation is obtained.

Abstract High removal rate (HRR) machining involves the use of extremely rigid, high-power, high-precision machines, such as roll turning lathes, to achieve material removal rates far beyond the capacity of conventional machine tools. This article reviews the machine requirements and cutting parameters of HRR machining.

Rate and extent NOM removal during oxidation and biofiltration
Water Research, 2014The presence of natural organic matter (NOM) in drinking water treatment presents many challenges. Integrated treatment processes combining oxidation and biofiltration have been demonstrated to be very effective at reducing NOM, specifically biodegradable organics.

Removal rate of [3H]hyaluronan injected subcutaneously in rabbits
American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 1990Hyaluronan is an important constituent of the extracellular matrix in skin, and recent studies suggest that there is a pool of easily removable ("free") hyaluronan drained by lymph. The removal rate of free hyaluronan in skin was measured from the elimination of [3H]hyaluronan, injected subcutaneously in 13 rabbits.

Rate of removal of collagen and mineral from bone and cartilage
Metabolism, 1969Abstract The quantitative relationship between collagen and mineral dynamics in bone and costal cartilage has been studied. Young rats were injected simultaneously with both 14 C-proline and 85 Sr. The animals were sacrificed at intervals ranging from 1–20 days after injection.

Rate and Extent of Aqueous Perchlorate Removal by Iron Surfaces
Environmental Science & Technology, 2003The rate and extent of perchlorate reduction on several types of iron metal was studied in batch and column reactors. Mass balances performed on the batch experiments indicate that perchlorate is initially sorbed to the iron surface, followed by a reduction to chloride. Perchlorate removal was proportional to the iron dosage in the batch reactors, with
