Standardized evaluation methodology for renal cortical blood perfusion in elderly patients using contrast‐enhanced ultrasound: A Chinese expert consensus (2024 edition)

open access: yesAging Medicine
As a sensitive and non‐invasive method for assessing changes in renal cortical blood perfusion in the elderly, contrast‐enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) can indirectly reflect changes in kidney filtration and reabsorption function, thus providing feasibility ...

Retinal blood flow reversal quantitatively monitored in out-of-plane vessels with laser Doppler holography [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Laser Doppler holography is a planar blood flow imaging technique recently introduced in ophthalmology to image human retinal and choroidal blood flow non-invasively. Here we present a digital method based on the Doppler spectrum asymmetry that reveals the local direction of blood flow with respect to the optical axis in out-of-plane vessels.

Photoacoustic vector tomography for deep hemodynamic imaging [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Non-invasive imaging of deep blood vessels for mapping hemodynamics remains an open quest in biomedical optical imaging. Although pure optical imaging techniques offer rich optical contrast of blood and have been reported to measure blood flow, they are generally limited to surface imaging within the optical diffusion limit of about one millimeter ...

Dependency of Renal Blood Flow on Prostaglandin Synthesis in the Dog

open access: yesCirculation Research, 1973
Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in chloralose-anesthetized dogs reduced renal blood flow, and this reduction closely correlated (r=0.92 ...

RhoA and Rac1 as Mechanotransduction Mediators in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Analysing RhoA and Rac1 protein levels in Colorectal cancer (CRC) samples under mechanical strain highlights their potential as diagnostic markers. Monitoring their activity could offer valuable insights into how cancer spreads, paving the way for new approaches to better understand and diagnose colorectal cancer.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging–Derived Renal Oxygenation and Perfusion During Continuous, Steady‐State Angiotensin‐II Infusion in Healthy Humans

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2016
BackgroundThe role of kidney hypoxia is considered pivotal in the progression of chronic kidney disease. A widely used method to assess kidney oxygenation is blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD)–magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), but its interpretation ...

Intrarenal hemodynamics and kidney function in pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma before and after surgical treatment

open access: yesBlood Pressure, 2021
Purpose Current evidence regarding renal involvement in pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) is scant. More accurate diagnostic methods, such as renal Doppler ultrasound for intrarenal hemodynamic studies, may provide more detailed information on ...

Mathematical modeling of blood flow through arterial bifurcation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The blood vascular system consists of blood vessels such as arteries, arterioles, capillaries and veins that convey blood throughout the body. The pressure difference which exists between the ends of the vessels provides the living force required to the flow of blood.
